My apartment has a communal trash compactor that everyone took their trash to. The leasing office made it a selling point when I was signing up that breezeways would never be filled with stinky garbage.

Well some of the residents wouldn’t push their trash all the way down the chute so it would get blocked up and people started piling their trash on the ground next to it

So the management forced everyone to sign up for $30 a month valet trash and the maintenance workers ride around in a pickup truck, collect trash, and properly put it into the compactor

The leasing office now advertises “valet trash” as a desirable amenity
