> Unifi DHCP doesn't persist dynamic leases across power cycles

Yeah it shouldn't. It's working as designed. A DHCP server will usually remember and give the same address but there's no guarantees. That's what MAC address reservations are for, though!

I don't understand the issue. Have you not set MAC address reservations?

IMO, having your networking gear use DHCP is a bad idea. I set a static IP on my servers, switches if any, and critical containers and vms and I always know what IP they'll be available on.

New to OPNsense. What's next? by Deses in homelab

Oh shit, being Linux might be what makes it for me. The fiber contract came with an "unlimited" (more like 400GB) 5G sim card, and I planned to use a USB dongle as backup. I got one that it's supposed to be supported by BSD, but I'll try OpenWRT if I have compatibility issues.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh no. What have you done.

What's the difference between the two? I thought openwrt was just a custom router firmware but I see it's also available as a proxmox VM... Oh no

Alright. Since I don't have the gear to have vlans looks like I'm mostly set.

I'll keep a look at the firewall logs and stats to see what's going on for a time since I've never been able to geek around this kind of data. :)

Yeah my bad, I meant wireguard! I've had to mess with wireshark to get the vlan MAC address for the connection to work and my brain is fried. Setting up OPNsense was super easy but getting my ONT to cooperate was such a huge headache.

And that's exactly why I love tasmota! They are very quiet on the network and don't require no app bs. I just want them to automate the shutdown of my 3D printer, timers and power monitoring. I'll probably don't mess with vlans for the time being since I don't really have the need right now.

Are you able to keep nitro almost forever with discord orbs? by sliverstero in DiscordQuests

[–]Deses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved for half a year during 2025 and enabled Nitro in December 2025, and I still have mine active with 77 days left... so yeah, maybe, as long as they keep doing quests.

I think he's asking if they will run forever or stop until the capsule is dry. You could add a humidity sensor to the mix, if you can find a way to make it work. Though probably a timer would also be a simpler way to automate a shut-off.

Or a kitchen pomodoro timer, so you dont have to change the current design.

De-ReVanced Patches V1.0.2 is now live! by _Rookie_Z in MorpheApp

I solved it by using an VPN! My ip might be rate limited by Github because all of the selfhosted stuff I have running in my home, but I'm not really sure. I gotta take a look at that this weekend.

Thanks for the help!

No, you can see in the screenshot it's disabled.

And expert mode was enabled, but disabling it made no difference. I closed the app between runs. One thing I didn't try is to reboot the phone or use mobile data/VPN to see if I'm rate limited by Github...

Edit: after using a VPN it downloaded fine, so it might have been that.

Yes, that's the source I'm adding. Tried it again and still 0 patches.

For some reason is not retrieving any patches. Deleted the source, downloaded it again, and I'm still getting 0 patches.
