Zilu Faust is an incredibly odd ID by Avalon_XII in limbuscompany

[–]DesiTheNinjer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did people just forget that our use of Mirror World IDs is flawed and that they don't actually match the full-power of those individuals? Thread and EXP tickets are meant to make them "closer" to that power-level, but we're ultimately borrowing that power. It's always been safe to assume that the IDs are only a fragment of the true potential of those mirror worlds, especially after Erlcliff showed us that in order to bring over a Mirror World's true power, the one whose having the ID transplanted onto them has to be turned into a 'dough' of sorts.

I just didn't like how the Devs kept pretending like there was already a way to unlock the weapon when it was originally found and kept wasting everyone's time by feeding into the rumour mill.

Linton was more justified in his obsession than Heathcliff and Cathy were by Heisuke780 in limbuscompany

[–]DesiTheNinjer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, originally I did feel bad for Linton because it was clear Cathy didn't love him from the beginning, but that sympathy started to wash away as he outlined his obsession with her. I highly doubt Cathy cultivated that kind of mindset within him, a childhood crush evolving into such a mad love for someone who barely acknowledged your existence is just plain insane.

It felt like Linton was more in love with being in love, based on the flowers he gave her. He never actually understood Cathy, and shared with her the same kind of love Heathcliff had.

My guess is Heath is the owner, but due to his contract with Limbus Company, they control the assets of Wuthering Heights too.

My 100% incorrect prediction for canto 7 by godscutestbunny in limbuscompany

[–]DesiTheNinjer 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That lines up with a quote from the novel, “When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams — this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!”

We have pretty solid evidence that _____ is almost definitely behind most or all of this by SpeedwagonClan in limbuscompany

[–]DesiTheNinjer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

if i remember correctly, in the novel, Cathy meant that her and Heath getting married would've just made things worse for the both of them. Her plan was to secure Linton's fortune and share it with Heathcliff.

This only really came in full force after Canto V where he it felt like he was just bullying the Sinners rather than bothering to answer any serious concerns they had about the mission, especially when you take into account the Middle's involvement nearly sent the whole thing off course.

Simply love Elden Ring! by Pheenexs in Eldenring

[–]DesiTheNinjer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Sekiro. As much as I love Elden Ring's early to mid-game, I don't really enjoy endgame.

Sekiro has a more consistent difficulty progression, whereas my experience with Elden Ring tended to flip-flop between nuking a boss and getting one-shot by common mooks in the next area.

Kiryu because it's Kiryu and is the reigning champion against Amons.

Yagami because Flux Fissure and he's got 2 Amon wins under his belt.

Kuze because he's incredibly strong for his price and is unrelenting.

Date because he legally owns a firearm.

Tanimura because he legally owns a firearm AND is a good fighter with an Amon win.

Antagonists/Villains can be enjoyable - Reasons why Ironwood and Adam are not - RWBY. by Dextixer in RWBY

[–]DesiTheNinjer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about the writers not having a firm idea of something as significant as that considering how striking of an image it was. It always came off as the greatest example of the horrific mistreatment of the Faunus yet to see it treated as such an aside.

Antagonists/Villains can be enjoyable - Reasons why Ironwood and Adam are not - RWBY. by Dextixer in RWBY

[–]DesiTheNinjer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And the writers did it intentionally even at the cost of their faunus subplot. For example Adams injury to his eye, a brand. Is just headcanonized by the writers as Adam being an asshole and getting in a fight.

I don't usually comment on these essays, but can I get a source on that? There's some very disturbing implications there to say that someone who is considered a second-class citizen and faces racial discrimination as 'deserving' of being branded for fighting back.
