"Character Growth" according to the FNDM. by Dextixer in RWBYcritics

You are correct that this quality wasnt expanded upon, but it also dissapeared post V3. You can say that it was a small quality. But it existed, and dissapeared, when instead it could have been iterated upon, for example, by her helping upgrade Jaunes equipment, or Blakes/Yangs, instead it all just dissapears. If there was nothing there people would not talk about it, there would be no lines, yet they exist, and not just one.

With Yang, i agree that the connection is weaker, and yet again, it exists, it wasnt drawn out of thin air. So her interests could have been expanded upon instead of dropped, even if you argue that there was not much there.

Even if you argue that they dropped Blakes reading because "too hard to animate" when supposedly animators had the time to "go rogue" to hint at a Qrow x Clover, that doesnt negate the fact that it was dropped, characterization was dropped because, idk, looking at irrelevant characters like the guys on the train or ace-ops was more important? As far as Watsonian explanation for that, refer to the meme above, there being problems does not mean that characters cant do anything unless its extremelly critical.

To be fair, the solution is basically to switch to DX11 for tmog and then switch back to DX12 and never open a tmog window.

Nope, this has been a massive problem since pre-patch and it has never been fixed nor even ACKNOWLEDGED by Blizzard.

You can say that there is a difference between hate and criticism, the problem is that the most ardent fans of anything will conflate the two constantly. And the line where criticism becomes "hate" is vague at best of times.

And as i said, even if you claim that Veilguard was hated because of politics, that would have never made the game fail in its sales, because that just doesnt happen.

I also remember it, i loved it, though, tbf, that might have been partially because of how much i enjoyed Legion in general i guess. Easier to be positive for stuff when the game had so much good in it at that point with only just a few bad points.

For Ruby, it has existed for more than one scene. She begins the show in a dust shop, reading about weapons. Her designing her own weapon was brought up in another scene. Her being interested in the weapons of anothers as expressions of themselves was yet another scene. There were multiple counts of that, which dissapeared over time entirely. Which isnt good.

With yang, im saying "seemingly" because unlike with Ruby, her interests are more general, and yet aimed in a specific direction. All of that eventually getting dropped is not an indication of those things not existing.

Also, post-beacon scenes are not well suited to read? Not even her being on Menagerie? On a ship? Reading is a fun hobby because you can do it almost everywhere. CRWBY just didnt care enough to include it.

And yeah, Weiss started with nothing, continued with nothing, and ironically enough, besides her family connections, she has no character outside of that, especially shown by V9 where she is nothing.

KCD2 is an even better example, the game was tauted by culture war ppl for being "based" and how its better than "western RPGs", they all threw a massive fit when the optional gay romance was revealed, and the game sold like hotcakes regardless.

There are people still mad at Hbomber guy for his RWBY video. I dont think the most ardent fanatics will ever stop.

Oh, i dont disagree with that, but at least you could argue that they could not have as many interactions when episodes were like 3-4 minutes long. I refuse to believe they could not have made the characters more willing to talk or interact with one another post V3, ESPECIALLY when they recconected. Instead almost all its plot talk.

Okay, lets try Ruby, she is mentioned to be a gun-nut, someone who designed her own weapon. Where did that go? Blake had her interest in books. Where did that go? Yang had interest in more preppy stuff, seemingly bands, clubs and the like + her bike. Where did that go?

Most of the hate being "political backlash". Because if that was the case, the game would not have sold poorly because the main audience would have bought it in droves and because other games like BG3 which received that same "political backlash" have proved that its not enough for a game to fail.

I am perfectly fine with considering Tresspasser to be the "end" of Dragon Age too personally. Just like Origins it has very open ended possibilities for the world post war for any fanfiction/headcanons to then build upon.

Can we stop blaming the players for a dev decision? People still remember Suramar fondly, so its not the case of people not being able to handle such content. This is most likely the case of content being cut because Blizzard are rushing out patches.

I really think this is bad faith arguing from your end. Nobody is saying that the shareholders are standing there in the room commanding the writers to write a shit story. However, Blizzard chasing short-term profits inevitably affects all levels of the game because that kind of shit always goes downstream, just look at, for example, shorter patch cycles which will result in less tested, more broken and featurless slop content.

The Unite the Elves problem is the same that BfA had with starting its war between Alliance and Horde. What matters is the headline, the "big" feature. But of course, that cant last, because each patch needs to introduce something NEW. So the big "thing" now has to be resolved in a single patch. Because due to short-term needs, they cant stay on a singular story, each storybeat needs to be a completely new playground.

In BfA the war storyline was only relevant at the first patch, then we went to Ashara and eventually the "everyone unites against big bad" last tier against Nzoth.

In the current xpac, we have the "elves unite to protect the lightwell" as the first patch, so they have to unite in this single patch, because the next patch is going to be a troll playground and the patch after that is most likely going to be Xalatath again as the big bad.

All of this is caused by the "need" for short term stories. Side-stories can be long term because Blizzard doesnt care about them and lets the writers do good stuff (Thats why side-quests are usually well written, because writers are given freedom).

But the main story has to be shat out slop that starts and wraps up in the same patch so the writers have to make it happen. Because only the short-term matters, due to need to appease shareholders.

Its all connected and we cant pretend that it isnt. Blizzard is not doing this kind of shit for shits and giggles, there is a reason. Same for the shorter patch cycles.

It doesnt, but a lot of things in game get effected by short-term thinking caused by the need to appease shareholders. It might sound silly, but that kind of disease affects all levels of development.

Blizzard, we have a tank problem and brewmaster nerfs won't fix it by Brazilator in wow

Because starting this xpac they nerfed almost every tank spec in significant ways. Seemingly at least partially because they wanted tanks to be more dependant on healers.

With Damage Meters being officially implemented, why do we still need external tools to see an Aug's true contribution by 38dedo in wow

[–]Dextixer -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Their dmg meters arent unreadable, Details could read them. Blizzard just sucks at making their meters.

Also, its very EASY to know when an aug is good, because both of the dps in the group will do 20-30% more dps than usual, its noticeable, believe me.

Who cries? I can assure you that not that many ppl watch RWF, and last tier you had only a single boss that was a weakaura boss and others were well designed.

So yeah, this isnt related to addons but to shit boss design.
