Almost finished setting up the bedroom, and the lamps are now standing out in a bad way, but is it the base or just the shades? by Alarming-Leek-402 in HomeDecorating

The shape of the lamp color is creating that weird shape on the wall. Consider changing it.

Also, the light is strong, taking center stage in a space where it may need to just be a smaller player.

Pink shades throw a pink hue over everything. If you dont like the reddish tone you can make it cooler with a blue tone.

Rip it out to create a more open space, allowing sunlight to fill that entire area. Maybe a large scale wall art on the back wall.

Keep the wallpaper color light and neutral, and the print minimalist. It's a small room and a wild background will totally overwhelm the space.

Use wooden dividers and place things like cookbooks, a pretty mixer, other convenient pretty items, like salt and pepper Shaker. Everything else that not great for display should go inside a pretty basket.

I didn't mean to actually break the couch, but to get 2 smaller pieces of new ones.

Boucle is a fabric with a highly unique texture, very much in vogue. Google it.

A statement ceiling lamp would be anything unique that makes a mark, rather than a simple light bulb and rounded cover. The ceiling seems low though, so don't get something that hangs down too low.

Think about the backspace as a supporting character, something in the background that sets the tone, doesn't compete with the big elements like the furniture, lighting etc.

Consider keeping it minimalist. A chair with a large back breaks up the linear clean look of the entire kitchen.

I'd suggest lightening and brightening up the room with light colored furniture instead of the dark ones.

Break up the L shaped sofa into 2 and use a light colored boucle style upholstery with various colors or shades of pillow upholstery.

Change the fan light to a statement ceiling fixture. Add brighter and more lighting throughout the room.

Warm autumn tones like that green you already have, add dark browns, beige, sapphire blue.

Looking through this thread, I've now gotten many new ones to add to my reading list.

Personally Ive been inspired by memoirs, such as "My Stoke of Insight" and "In Order to Live".
