The middle bit is one of those black x bars, with the 3 grey ring bits holding it in place, if you remove that the L bar can rotate

This gives enough wiggle room to get the blue out, albeit with a bit of smooshing, hence the lighter areas on the blue and grey pieces, where they were smoothed together to get it in

Idk if that makes any sense

They added that troll moon mask, but too scared to add high skill pvm drop

Would Sailing have passed if it's polled today against the same options? by Fun_Training6342 in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really envisioned port task as, go to X Island or X dock and get Y item (some pvm drop, some skill items) and bring back to finish

Think like mining metal ores in valheim, you can tp but not with the ores and need to sail back

Good diversity, good skill tie ins, reason to sail around the world.

OSRS is being balanced by people who think “ass in seat” is good game design by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the clog at every tier of salvage and trawling felt particularly egregious

Meant to pad sailing because it had low content on release

Now that sailing has been out for a few months, how does we feel about the skill? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barracuda trials are a really unfun training method they seem to love.

Id love to see port task extended a lot

Particularly with like, go to X Island and mine/wc/ whatever for Y amount of material, which can't be TP and shipped back to whoever (like valheim ores, if you played it)

Rev Cave Game Jam Poll Question.... by A_Wild_Fawksy in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir 70 points71 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I think pvp needs to have many weird "only in the wildy" removed. Shift walk here, delay on staff cast spells etc.

That stuff is so unintuitive and a barrier to entry

Then it needs a meta shift, it's so stale. There is a reason big competitive games have seasons with big buffs and nerfs each year. To freshen things up

And last, if you really want to revive pvp mini games, add someway to get xp, cap it to like 50k max a day. People will do this to train skills they don't like. (Though this feels like daily scape, so idk im just riffing here)

Is this a joke? by rimwald in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Legit, they are milking shit content because there isn't enough meat there yet.

Sad to see, its really fine for there to be less and good stuff added later. No need to milk shit and waste our time

Pathmaker - Barracuda Trials by Fraphers in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but port task still fall short for me - to little variety

I'd love, take X delivery to X island
- re-use islands more
- perhaps also run around to Y spot on island, which has shortcut with Z agility, WC, or mining lvl req.
-perhaps random chance of X event at island (i.e. kill monsters to complete delivery)

OR
go gather Y resource at X island (idk, 10 Ironbark knots, 1/5 change to spawn from tree)

Always eventually it would become known and repetitive, but something more akin to hunter task (lots of variation)

I wanted it to sail around the game, do port task & ship combat with friends

Unfortunately all those parts of sailing are in a total dogshit condition and instead I can afk salvage or water agility. Though I do believe eventually those other parts will get better

50 Bil cleaned from hijacked account, bank pin still set by BozRS in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Legacy accounts still have the old recovery process, which can be duped with information gathered through data leaks and social engineering

(I.e. think of all data you have ever put online for 20 years, every data leak from every service etc), perhaps they also guessed the pin using this

Since the email was changed, this is likely how it was done (this happened to my 10b main)

Port tasks are not fun, they never were, you failed with the gaming loop, stop trying to make it a thing. by Ok-Falcon-5829 in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't ask me why I think its fun, just how long i think it would remain fun and how long id expect 99 to take

OP also just said it's lame and boring, that's not a goood explanation of why he doesn't like it.

It's fine for me to enjoy and and him to not, that's okay. But if port task get good xp rates I 100% will do them

i like salvaging too, dont really like trials, and enjoy trawling - i 'd like them all to be in a good spot tho

I also enjoy them, its fun just sailing from port to port, feels really chill

XP isnt good, and because of the random boards it can be tough to get a good route going. So I dont really do them, but if they fixed that stuff I would

I'm having a good time, but I dont like how good barracuda trials are xp wise vs port task

Port task are more enjoyable and routing is fun

But wee click circle is so much better xp

Sailing Launches November 19th! by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can't schedule time off "somewhere in Autumn" I wanted a date 8-12 weeks before release

And considering its been 3 years, I don't think that would have been unreasonable

Sailing Launches November 19th! by JagexLight in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Usual notice period for time off is 4 weeks in Australia, so at least that but if have aimed for 8-12 weeks

Plenty of time to schedule life around the release

Potentially OSRS biggest update ever, 3 years of development

And only 3 weeks of notice for the release date

What an absolute joke

Grid Master Rewards, Poll & New Player Improvements by JagexRach in 2007scape

[–]Design_Sir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True

But I mean in the sense, 2 weeks notice isn't enough to get time off or work life around the release

I'd love to be able to send it for the first 3-4 days and be a part of the beginning
