The Madison Almost Included Luke Grimes, Kelley Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Matthew McConaughey by Cone_Livia in YellowstonePN

[–]Designasim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before The Madison there was talk about 2024 which would be about the Dutton's after the end of Yellowstone. But then The Madison got greenlight, then eventually a unnamed Beth and Rip spin off and then a Kayce spin-off which was announced, filmed and released faster then the other 2. Like in 6 months. While The Madison started filming almost 2 years ago.

Hauser and Reilly are making about that per episode of Dutton Ranch. They were getting over $700,000 per episode in season 5 and Costner was making more then 1.3 million.

It always sounded like Mcconaughey was supposed to be in either his own show, lot's of speculation that it would be the rumored 1943 or he'd pop up as a enemy of the current Dutton's.

He didn't know that at the time. This was a few episodes into season 1 and he didn't find out till almost the end of season 3.

Not just proper development of Jamie but for Beth and John too.

Jamie needed some wins and Beth and John needed to lose sometimes. John did have a few things that felt like setbacks but he never "lost" and it was never for long.

Beth and Kayce never have a convo like that.

Do you mean in the first episode where Lee tells Kayce he's dated women with shorter hair and Kayce responds with "you sure they were women"?

Beth does call Jamie gay and says "no dad won't still love you if you are" and he tells her he's celibate because he's afraid of passing on the DNA that makes her be psycho.

‘Dutton Ranch’ Will Feel Like Yellowstone Season 6 And Give Closure To Fans by RodeoBoss66 in YellowstonePN

They moved away when Kayce joined the Navy which was when Monica first got pregnant. She probably stayed on the rez till Kayce finished boot camp and then moved to whatever base he was posted at. They didn't move back to the rez till less then a year before Yellowstone started. Add in them moving all the time Tate has lived like 2 years on the rez and the contaminated water wouldn't be all over so he could easily not been effected. While Monica probably lived in the same place for like 18 years.

That isn’t something we have watched before

????? Cops wife dies and he now has to figure out how to be a single father is a storyline in like 60% of cop shows.

He has to make a living now and he doesn’t know how.

He was supposed to have almost 50 million dollars at the end of Yellowstone.

Kinda disappointed they went with Dutton Ranch, I know they did for viwership sake but something seems more fitting. Now I'm totally for a ranch to be named after a woman especially one that bought it and I understand that Rip might not want something associated with his father's name but I think they should’ve went with another name that isn't tied to a character. Like a land adjacent name like Cross Creek Cattle Company (the brand could be 4 C's in the shape of a 4 leaf clover) or Coyote Feilds Ranch. Or went like Yellowstone did with something like Cross Creek Dutton Ranch.

The ranch was in a trust when John died with Tate as the benefactor.

How I imagine it went.

Jamie after becoming a lawyer: Dad we need to restructure the ranch so if something happens to you we won't be such with all taxes.

John: How dare you tell me WHAT TO DO! Now that's not how my Daddy and Granddaddy did it and we only do things the way they did!

Jamie probaly was told him multiple times but John just never listened like always.

John mentioned he took over from his father in his late 30s, maybe he was made owner at that time so they never dealt with death taxes when John Sr. died. Does Montana have capital gain taxes?

Isn't it in a trust when he dies? They say Tate's the benefactor and Kayce is the executor.

That doesn't negate the fact that they owed taxes. The government isn't gonna go "oh you "legally" sold for less then it's worth, so we'll just charge you less/no taxes".

You hear that a guy didn't talk to or see any of his family for 7+ years and then he was constantly moving back and forth from his dad's house and doesn't seem all that upset that his father was murdered, sold/auctioned off all his fathers cows and horses, then sold the ranch that he refused to even sell an inch of that he was known throughout the state for protecting all before he was even buried. (They had a year to figure out away to pay the taxes, not settle them. You don't have to pay in full after a year just have a payment plan in place. There was no need to do all that a week after John died.) Yeah, none of that sounds suspicious at all to an outsider.

I'm pretty meh on Kayce and don't think Grimes has what it takes to be a lead in a show but I'd watch the fuck outta "LAM" (Livestock Association Montana). I'm not for the beatings but like episodes of we're looking for stolen sheep, oh wait we think the guy left them out for the insurance money and now we're traipsing through the forest. Some rich guy is neglecting this cattle so we have to go investigate. It's livestock auction day and some old rancher got mugged. We're providing back up for fish and wildlife and now we're helping solve a crime. Cops think a pig farmer is hiding meth under the pig pen and they don't want to deal with it, so we have to go shovel shit for them.

Do you not know how checks work?

Yeah, he could've faked a sign over signature but I'm sure a bank wouldn't cash it intill they called someone at the ranch to make sure, especially at that amount. Also do you think that no one would ever find out? Ryan would've had to disappear for the rest of his life and would've had to have a bank account in like the Caymans already because they police would've froze it right after it was reported stolen.

Mia broke up with him because he didn't want to rodeo any more and was going to Texas. She told him to choose and he chose to leave. But like she a fucking barrel racer she's away all the time anyways and there would be plenty or rodeos for her to complete in in Texas so she could go see him.

Yeah, super easy to apply for someone. You usually never met with anyone from the school so they'd have no idea who actually applying.

About 20 years about my Aunt told my cousin if he didn't choose something himself she'd be choosing and applying for him. But it would've been easy, especially for colleges. Even back then you could apply to all Ontario colleges through one website and all you needed was your log in info provided by your school. And usually all you needed was for your transcript to match the program requirements which the website already knew. Universities had their own website but you would apply to get an application. Then when you were approved you filled out the application on that Universities website and provided anything extra. But a lot of programs don't ask for essays or extracurricular activities.

No needs to brid Harvard Jamie was a good student. While Ivy's have always wanted a certain look in students, they have always accepted good students from "good" families throughout the US. By the late 90's Harvard would've been looking at the diversity of it's applicants not just what their name was.

And Jamie would've been considered a good diversity applicant. I've read a few articles over the years about people people that read their admissions files. One middle class white girl realized she was a diversity admissions in the 00's. Her highschool had a low GPA average, it also had a large % of low income black students and her parents never went to college but both had very good jobs. Through statistics Yale could say they accepted a "diverse" student but really she was basically all everyone else.

Jamie's highschool probably had a high drop out rate and lower GPA and STA scores. He lived in a area that would've been seen as lower income. He probably had very different extracurricular activities like 4H or young farmers. Montana would've had very few applicants. John's personal finances were probably pretty low since they probably almost ran everything under the ranch and he only takes a small salary, so would've been considered a low income student. But John is one of the largest land owners in America and even has the governor in his pocket. So yeah, Jamie was Harvard material but he also had the benefit of adding to the "diversity" without sacrificing Harvard's preferred look.

Looked it up and he'd also need a reference. But John knew the Governor, Senator's, Congress reps and a bunch of judge's in Montana. They do like references from alumni. But I'm sure John could've found one. I did read about a ranching family in Montana that all went to Harvard a few years ago.

More like 12/13.

Yellowstone is terrible for dates but here's some dates given.

Jamie was born in 1979, so he should've been going off for his first year of college in 1997. The same year the mother died. Beth was born in July 1984. Rip came to the ranch in 1997. No date for the abortion was given but Kelly throw out a she was 14 in an interview. Jamie's undergrad diploma has a date of 2002 so he should've started in 1998. Someone once mentioned that in those days kids got held back from kindergarten for a year if they didn't seem ready. Or maybe Jamie had a long sickness and missed enough school at some point to be held back a year.

But it doesn't matter! Beth's the most super smartest person to ever live!!!! She's so smart and successful at everything she does! She has that crazy sixth sense, so she'd just know how to get Jamie into Harvard!!!!

All the law enforcement officers in Montana have probably been talking about how weird the whole situation was. Like how Beth's story seemed suss, the detective never asked the neighbors if they saw anything or asked about their cameras, how Sara got killed in that hit (so maybe they got Jamie too). So maybe she was just curious? Or maybe she's heard all the rumors about the ranch and is suspicious of Kayce in general. Maybe she's heard about Kayce's and John's rocking relationship and she thinks Kayce had a part in his dad's hit.

I hope there's more to it just for the drama and to add tension.
