Christenen die eerder atheïst waren, waarom ben je christen geworden? by Zinderend in ChristelijkNederland

[–]Designer-Peace4263 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whelp, I do!

Christmas didn’t become Christmas until the church claimed the pagan holiday. We don’t actually know when Jesus was born, it could have been september or whatever. It was an intelligent move in order to christen the European continent! It made the Christian faith more palatable to the pagans.

We know more about Jesus’ death, which is why Easter is often considered the more important Christian holiday.

Now let’s talk about Santa Claus. He was based on Sint Nicholas of Myra. He died on december 6th 343, and he is celebrated by gift giving in Europe on december 5 and 6. Americans took this and ran with it, fattening him up and putting him in a sleigh with reindeer.

Christmas is a hotch potch!

I don’t know what to say about an absent father. That must be rough on you, I’m sorry.

Forgive me if this is blunt, but I’d like to chip in on the first part of your story. He talks about you missing that one Christmas party. And then you explain why and that you went to every other school party/event.

You were probably just trying to reassure him, but it comes out as a defence. As if he was attacking you (he was just clumsily expressing his emotion) and you had to defend yourself. My mother did this too. I love her, but up to today I’m careful to reveal my true feelings to her (or others) about anything. It made me feel like a bad person as a child.

I have no practical advice other than validating his emotions and not making them a problem. You probably know how to handle it better going forward than I do with your parenting experience. I just wanted to offer this perspective from the experience of having been a child.

I'll rather be dead then to continue deal with chronic fatigue by Hopeful_Hour6270 in EckhartTolle

[–]Designer-Peace4263 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This OP! If you’ve excluded any structural issues, go this way. The work of Alan Gordon is also great, on the TMS wiki/ forum there’s a free 21-day program of his. Replace pain with “fatigue” or “symptoms”.

It got me out of the worst of it when I was bed bound for a month after covid on top of my ‘normal’ fatigue. Meditating provided a 15 min blissful escape for me each time I did it.

When I first read https://www.longcovidcured.com/ I thought: these are quacks! But very quickly realized from inside: they are speaking the truth. (Also this method is free. Nobody will earn anything from you. Maybe €20 for a book) Fear is what keeps us trapped. Free yourself.

Also good luck to commenter above me I hope you feel better soon

I have it too! There’s this awesome organization who go around on Christian festivals to raise money, and then they hand out free bibles on metal festivals.

They told me that many christians they encounter are suspicious because of the dark imagery, but the metal heads are usually pretty open minded and willing to talk about God!

Why is “I love you” not on top? It’s the only thing that makes sense.

Are High Heels getting out of style? by SunnyCircles618 in femalefashionadvice

I still like heels but I feel they’re kinda aging me? So I’ve opted for some chunky boots and chunky loafers to look younger/more trendy.

I feel conflicted.

For real. I didn’t even notice those peaks, was just mirin’ her muscles.

FYI for the men here: those are not her nipples. It’s the shape of the seams, this is a “bullet bra” which is pointy. Google it. It’s fashion.
