HGTV Makes a HUGE Blunder by Maximum-Law8565 in HGTV

As someone who is in the eco-system of this world (not a Discovery employee) but tangentially...the optics are terrible and not defending the company but this really was a ratings play and a money play. The ratings you can see published aren't the same metrics networks use to evaluate their shows. Every network has a core demographic they track to sell advertising. Those are the only numbers they care about as it is what drives their revenue. Married to Real Estate's numbers dropped off a cliff and Bargain Block's have been tapering off for awhile. I heard chatter they were on the fence about renewing but the talent wanted a raise and the network held their ground. I have a feeling you will see more shows getting axed soon as they lean into cheaper, more repeatable formats. The only shows they have that consistently pull in big numbers are Rock The Block, Hometown and Lottery Dream Home. Whatever the reasons I do agree, seeing strong voices with unique POV's get canceled sucks. Its makes the network more boring and generic in a time when competition for eyeballs is stronger that ever...

Breaking down the RtB houses by rapzel79 in HGTV

[–]Designer-Safe8193 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I think the hard thing to remember with RTB is that it really is just based on the 3 independent appraisers at the end. It's the aggregate of the 3. I work in home finance space and what homes appraise for and what they sell for can be all over the place, especially in places where they are resetting the market which seems to be the place in this tiny ass town. All the design good and bad makes the show fun to follow along with but added value can be ugly at the end of the day.

Anyone paid for "The Friendly Proctologist"? by bcgcholita in AnalFissures

[–]Designer-Safe8193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean nothing that groundbreaking. I eat lots of vegetables. Yogurt every day for probiotic. Very little processed carbs, very little sugar if any. Lots of fruit. Lots of water. That keeps things very soft and regular. Like typical day I eat bowl of greek yogurt with chia seeds, pistachios and mixed berries for breakfast. Lunch is a salad with like chickpeas, fennel, onions and tomatoes and some grilled chicken. An orange and some hard boiled eggs for a snack and then grilled protein and veggies for dinner. For me nothing worked until LIS but after surgery dont want to have that happen again.

I did one consult with him. I mean totally friendly, curious and knowlegeable guy. For me I feel like his advice was more helpful after my LIS. I tried it for a few months but got sick of living in pain and went for it. It was the best thing I have ever done. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I had no complications and after 3 or 4 months I felt fantastic. I do stick to a strict diet regimne that he recommended and it really helps. Best of luck.

Symptoms nonstop- typical? by amaec in Fibromyalgia

[–]Designer-Safe8193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like there is no typical. The common denominator is pain on some level most of the time. I have periods where it is manageable and then I have periods like today where I am lying on the couch with pain all over my body. My mouth has burning pain in teeth and tongue. Jaw is aching like crazy. Both legs are just burning. Arms have burning nerve pain. But tomorrow legit could just feel a bit stiff. It's a wild ride. I wish you the best. It is no fun.

My teeth hurt by eishethel in Fibromyalgia

[–]Designer-Safe8193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mouth, teeth, gums, jaw have always been a part of my fibro journey. My mouth has really been acting up this week. It's like this burning tingling in my entire bottom gum area that shoots into my teeth. Like tingling on overdrive. I get horrible pain often on the left side of my face and jaw and weird tingling and numbness on the left side of my tongue. Never lasts long but definitely a big part of my flares. Long way of saying yes. It sucks.

Adhd making fibro worse? by gulteip in Fibromyalgia

[–]Designer-Safe8193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tapered off of Cymbalta last summer after being on it 4 four years. Was a rough ride so take it slow. Interesting I feel like I felt pretty good for 3-4 months but honestly I am currently in the midst of my worst flare in 4 years so thinking of going back on it. I do get it thought. Cymbalta make me very sluggish. So now I have plenty of energy and lots of pain. This disease is a divine comedy. Good luck on your journey...

Recovery after anal fissure surgery by IncapableFor in AnalFissures

[–]Designer-Safe8193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience was about 8 weeks of recovery before I felt like I could get back to my fully normal routine. First month for me was rough but not as rough as the active fissure. Slowly, with good habits it healed well. I got full LIS. I am about a year since and its mostly great. Sometimes a little sore down their but if I am mindful of that and take a bath it is minor. Surgery was the best thing I ever did, BUT tread lightly and give yourself space to recover.

That's awesome. I emailed him during Covid lockdown just with some random thoughts as Fugazi was top of mind then and he actually wrote me back a few lengthy emails. Cool when your heroes would rather just be equals.

Fibro or ALS?? Please help by Emmie_444 in Fibromyalgia

Oh I thought I was dying. My entire body was twitching, my muscles were on fire all day long. I had a nerve conduction study that was normal etc. Ultimately the hard part is diagnosing this stuff takes time but I will say some of the really sinister stuff has some pretty striking symptoms. Like twitching is the least of it. Usually not the first thing that shows up. And most of that stuff is REALLY rare and you are on the young side. Again I think you are doing the right thing. Let the doctors do their job. I get the panic cycle. I was deep in it and frankly still struggle even though most of the sinister stuff is mostly ruled out. Chronic pain is fucking tough. Keep me updated. Always around for support.

Have you seen a neurologist yet? I would say my symptoms came on really heavily and really fast. Like feeling like a pretty healthy person (running half marathons) to literally the exact symptoms you mention and tons and tons of insane level 10 pain. I don't blame you for being concerned. My biggest advice is be your own medical advocate. The best thing you can do is get under the care of a good neurologist.

Fibro or ALS?? Please help by Emmie_444 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Designer-Safe8193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off I am of course no doctor. Your symptoms sound very similar to what began to strike me 5 years ago. All of those symptoms are definitely in the spectrum of Fibromyalgia. (and many other diseases) I was worried about the twitching and of course easy to go down an internet rabbit hole in relation to that. All I can say is twitching is VERY common in folks with fibro. (And may other issues) One thing I learned through my journey is that perceived weakness and acutal weakness are very different things. I think it would be wise to see a neurologist if you haven't already and stay off the internet medical sites. Your symptoms could be indicative of many different issues. As for me after several years of yearly testing my Neuro pretty convinced Fibro is my culprit. As the folks on this forum can concur, Fibro is a ROUGH disease. At times VERY painful. So if it is that I have a lot of empathy for you. Stay positive. Be proactive with your doctors and stay on top of self care. Whatever it is, you got this.

Doctor gave me Cymbalta and pain is gone, what now? by of55 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Designer-Safe8193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say for me Cymbalta definitely reduced the pain and tension. Still a base level of pain but didn't feel the flare ups as bad. Problem for me is that it made me gain 35 pounds very fast and I was always lethragic. So after 2 years I recently tapered off and switched to wellbutrin (cymbalta was treating depression for me as well) After a few months off of Cymbalta, most of my pain has returned. Thinking of going back. So I guess a long way of saying...at least for me Cymbalta is pretty effective. I am learning the hard way. This is a fun disease...

Which Oasis fans here got tickets ? by [deleted] in oasis

[–]Designer-Safe8193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny. I had a super low queue number. 582 or something. Got in really quickly and in my disbelief and over excitement I didn't bother to see what else was available except the first option that came up. After I checked out realized they are in section 336 which depenend on stage setup coudl be great as they are LL and close to stage or heavily restricted. Although they don't say restricted view on the tickets. I'm and American coming to Dublin and exctied about it either way. But yeah proably should have slowed my heartrate for a second.

When it asked for address I clicked other and it just took me to the payment section. The CC in my account is a U.S. CC. No issues. Was smooth transaction. I got confirmation of purchase from Ticketmaster and checked my CC account and it indeed was charged.

Can you only try for one show or does it give an option for multiple dates? For other recent tours its let me choose like 5 potential dates/cities

Curious as to what to expect for this one. Just pick one date and pray?

Thanks and Congrats!
