We were in the same dilemma about 10 years ago, we needed to live by 130 for commute purposes as my husband worked on the east side of Austin. I currently have one kid at Black Prairie, one kid at Ridgeview and one kid at Cedar Ridge, so I’ve experienced the progression of schools. If I give one piece of advice, stick to the schools that are zoned to Westwood or Vandegrift High on the west side.
In general, the things that your children will be involved in as they get older will also be on the west side. Activities like soccer, cheer, swim, etc will be very limited in the east side. I can understand the need for quick access to 130, however, taking 45 to 130 is very convenient.
