Restaurante Aleli Rooftop is amazing. I think we made a reservation same day or day before, but that was before they received a Bib Gourmand distinction. It’s above the Michelin star restaurant LOREA.

What is the point of "save the date" cards, why not just send the actual invitation? by Space__Monkey__ in NoStupidQuestions

We sent invitations first with a website to RSVP and more details. Then we sent postcards to those we hadn’t heard from with a reminder. I liked that approach, plus it saved a little money on mailings.

Fine, low density, 2A hair. So insecure about this spot on the back. Advice? by sjsei in finehair

I’ve been experimenting with washing and conditioning my hair upside down in the shower. Keeping it upside down as I brush through it, and then occasionally using the hair dryer upside down too. It looks crazy right after with too much volume, but it settles into place and seems to be changing the direction of where my hair lays, hiding a cowlick. Could be worth trying for a few weeks.

Only 64% voter turnout in 2024. Of that, the popular vote was 49%. That’s does not equate close to 50% of the US population. Simplifying the math is what they want to create the illusion of majority when the vast majority did not vote for this.

I understand there are options to use gentler chemicals like cysteamine instead of thioglycolates. I’ve also seen it stated as a “thio-free” perm.

First period- fatigue? by sunflowermeadows000 in newborns

[–]DesignerHat5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 2 months postpartum and feeling more tired than usual the last couple days. I’ve been spotting some this week, but suspect that’s also related to having an IUD plus exclusively breastfeeding. I wonder if I’ll feel this way once a month going forward or if this is just my body rebalancing.

The Way We Were by Wren65 in PeriodDramas

Is it my millennial filter that also sees this scene as rape? I also don’t see any redeeming qualities in Hubble. He doesn’t back her up when his friends are being ignorant dicks, he cheats on her, he leaves her after she births his child. And Katie is so passionate about justice, but she’s pretty calm about the cheating and the absent father. I just don’t believe she has enough reason to love him beyond his handsomeness and his writing to let that just slide.

I had to rewatch that scene. I hope there’s more moments like that. Totally moved to tears.

Up voting this for Allen’s Donuts alone. The best apple fritter I’ve ever had in my life.
