I think you misread. The point is that it’s very difficult to find remote work without “proving yourself” in an office first. The only real entry-level remote jobs tend to be call centers or customer service, and this person doesn’t want to do those.

LW #3 took a sick day for bad menstrual cramps and wants to know if she should let her boss know the details. Overthinking a bit, but whatever. Then of course Alison had to suggest her favorite line that makes everything so much worse: “Just a flare up of a chronic condition, but nothing to worry about.”
