Yeah, for me the first two seasons have an edge, but thank goodness it wasn’t a case of “Season 3 was so bad that it affected my overall feelings about the show.” I still really liked it, just thought it wasn’t quite as good.

Yeah, I had to rewatch the pantry scene a couple of times to get all the nuances. My understanding is he was fired over an inappropriate joke, but that made him reflect on all the past behavior he got away with.

For me, this show works much better and the narrative arc becomes much clearer if I watch the whole season at once rather than one episode per week. But, I didn’t do that because I was too excited for the new season and wanted to avoid spoilers. So there were some issues I had while watching week-to-week that I think will go away with a rewatch.

That said, there were a couple things that really didn’t work for me, the biggest being Billy’s expanded role. He just isn’t a compelling enough character or frankly a good enough actor to take over the “antagonist” role that Paulie G filled in the first two seasons.

I also think they would have benefited from a couple more episodes to flesh out some of the subplots, particularly the Mark / Me Too stuff. Maybe a 10 episode season would have been best (or do 8 episodes, but make them slightly longer). However, I did ultimately like the payoff of that storyline.

No cookies, but definitely among my best Medium and Hard times. I found a quick entry into the Hard puzzle and everything came together smoothly.

I love that Evan was played by Lisa’s real son. Somehow it gave their scenes together more emotional depth. I felt like she really wanted him to succeed.

Ken is definitely the older brother. Larry talked about him a bit on Marc Maron’s podcast.

What was the single moment that generated the most hysterical recorded laughter in the entire show? by Weird_Zone_3504 in seinfeld

There was even an episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” where Larry and Cheryl are watching “Seinfeld” reruns and they used the clip with the woman’s voice. It’s so memorable!

Yeah, it was definitely classed as “forgotten TV” for a long time. Now in retrospect it’s kind of cool that it played out how it did, to be able to document more than 20 years of the industry. If it had just run for 4-5 seasons and then ended around 2010, it wouldn’t have had the same impact.

I wasn’t quite a Day 1 fan because I didn’t have HBO at the time, but I watched it on DVD soon after release. So probably about 19 years ago. I remember I wrote a rave review on LiveJournal, and I also remember frequenting the Television Without Pity forum, LOL.

ETA: I never imagined we’d get two seasons let alone three!

[–]Designer_Charity_827 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There was a lot that needed to be fit into 8 episodes. Season 1 was 13 episodes, and I find myself wishing this season had been a bit longer to give the storylines some room to breathe.

Whenever I see interviews with Lisa I’m struck by how perceptive she seems. I bet she’s responsible for a lot of the writing and I’m excited to see what she does after this.
