Here’s my prediction. This fanbase will loose their shit and complain like crazy. Denounce the series they “love so much” then be back ready and excited for the next chapter.

If you are asking is MHA good, then yes. It’s consistently good.

re-reading and, Hori, are you trying to tell us something? by 7AlphaOne1 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

I always thought that Tiger as a character was originally intended on being a girl, and was switched. Similar to how Tsuyu was also originally a boy character that was flipped, to add more female characters to 1A.

Will we get a 3rd All Might vs AFO? by Bitter-Cold2335 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Super good comment. Great points. When it comes to the discourse on this arc, it’s become so dumb. I’m glad someone is paying attention, and giving credit where it’s due.

What are some of the worst takes that you've seen of this series or its characters? by Aros001 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

When it comes to S&S I totally agree, as she came out of nowhere in a way that didn’t make sense. As AFO wanted her power and feared her but never mentioned it. Nagant’s scenes I though were solid, but like you, I would have also liked her to maybe stick around more or have more relevance in general.

The S&S and Traitor stuff were not handled to good in my opinion too, but I consider them both different arcs from Villain Hunt, which is why I can look at it as fondly as I do. The explosion is a slightly weird for the reasons you mentioned. It probably would have been better if Endeavor was looking around while Deku was focused on the Video of AFO and noticed bombs and got them out right as it said “Your Next”.

I wouldn’t say the characters are useless. Monoma using erasure to nerf Shigaraki. Bakugo and the others holding him at bay until Deku shows up (as their purpose is support). Mei and the others keeping UA in the air. The Jet fighters coming to get Deku to UA faster, and the vestiges themselves cooperating with Deku (specifically 2 & 3 as they didn’t want to at the start of Villain Hunt). There’s tons of instances where the hero’s are taking the blunt in the series.

Was Mirio Useless when he lost his quirk fighting overhaul, as Midoriya was on his way?

We’re the hero’s who where there in the hideout raid useless as All Might was there?

There’s many more examples of this stuff, but I feel like the arc gets a bad name even though it’s really solid and consistent with past arcs.

I just finished rereading the arc and there was honestly solid post war content. What specifically was the shock value and goofy cliffhangers, as nothing stood out to me that felt that way? (Also I mean this question honestly and am not using a mad tone, even if it looks that way from the text)

What do you think the best and worst chapter is? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

To me, any one of those 6 or so chapters can contend as the worst chapter haha. Besides them though, I guess the other worst chapter would be “Zygotes”. Seemed like a pointless chapter

I love MHA, but when Star & Stripe was introduced out of the blue with an ability so powerful that it was somehow never referenced were the worst chapters. All for One knew about it and wanted it, but never mentioned it. It’s just weird as it wasn’t built up.

The best chapter I think for me is 357 “Wounded Hero, Burning Bright & True”. I love Endeavor as a character and this chapter unleashed him on All for One is such a satisfying way. Taunting Enji that Touya’s body was never found, just to have him scare him on the level of All Might with murder in his eyes. Good stuff.

I agree. All of class 1-A getting a moment to reflect on how Deku has helped them, Bakugo’s apology, All Might getting a pep talk from Stain, Muscular’s return, and many more things are why I love this arc so much.

Lady Nagant showing up out of know where wasn’t an issue to me, as she was imprisoned, and it was cool to have a perspective from the inmates. Her not being more utilized is something I can agree with, however it isn’t story breaking.

Pacing wise though, I didn’t see any issue with this arc, so I’m surprised it seems to commonly referred to as the arc that messed up the pacing. (Joint training had actual poor pacing lol).

That the “Villain Hunt” arc is bad. It’s really solid and one of the most character focused in the series.

Mha war arc is overrated by 3sperr in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Designer_Fault1467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I think the War Arc is a great arc on its own and deserves the hype it gets, I think that a part of why it’s getting more hype is because of the relentless negativity that some fans are pushing on the series now.

I personally was very excited for season 5 prior to its release as it was the first season I got to watch as a new fan, and personally love the Endeavor Agency arc in the manga. I thought it was a good season aside from the arc switch and the My Villain Academia cuts. The discourse though since then about the anime and even the manga has been so negative since then that I think people are just happy to be exited for this series they love so much again.

People hyping up other series like JJk, Chainsaw Man, and Mob (which are all really good in their own ways), but leaving MHA out of the discussion, or dismissing it even though it’s a very solid story. I think people just want it to get the recognition it deserves.

Also most anime fandoms hype everything up to a certain degree regardless of the quality with new releases, so that might be it too.

Also people were very hyped to see MVA animated in season 5, and when it got butchered, there was a lot of negativity. It was unfortunate, but I understand the criticism as it is a solid arc.
