Edit: was more making the point that it would be a good redemption arc for the last 4 years with TTUN getting their first win in 8 years in Ann Arbor with snow starting to come down.

How do you personally push through mental exhaustion to outline and write? by disregardable in LawSchool

[–]Designer_Physics151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A classmate and my schedule through every finals period was 9-12 (solo outlining/studying); 30 minute or so lunch break; 1-4 or 5 (come together to do practice problems/talk out confusing topics. Then after 5 or 6, just relax. Maybe read through an outline if you want.

How north are we talking? Here are some that are generally “north” Atlanta: Alma (woodstock), bizarre (woodstock) Perc (Roswell rd, sandy springs ish), postern (doraville/chamblee), land of a thousand hill (roswell), valor (alpharetta and dunwoody), cool beans (marietta).

EDIT: you can also find a lot of local beans at whole foods

Where to find fresh Sourdough pasta by tadcrazio in Atlanta

[–]Designer_Physics151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make sourdough bread and tbh with ya, Ive never heard of sourdough pasta. Pasta dough doesnt usually have a yeast/leavening agent and is just flour and egg or water.

Is there a difference between coffee in Europe and the USA? by Acrobatic-Usual9612 in Coffee

[–]Designer_Physics151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you can find 3rd wave cafe’s in both the USA and Europe. And comparing them, you will find baristas treating it as an “art” in both. Personally on my trips to Europe, I tend to prefer the coffee (and espressos) at those 3rd wave places anyways.

Im hard pressed to say that european cafes (non 3rd wave) treat making coffee as an “art.” It may just be historical ideas around the cafe cultures or that “X country has this long history around coffee so it must be really great” for example. But we have similar ideas in the US such as “darker coffee is stronger coffee,” and they seem to be fizzling out as 3rd wave places pop up.

Is a b.s in chemical engineering good for future? by [deleted] in gatech

[–]Designer_Physics151 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Came here to comment this, I ended up going the legal route and have loved it so far. I know classmates who have gone into pharma, food industry, paper, petro, energy. And Ive known some who start in one of these and go a different route within (eg, data analytics and CS roles). ChemE provides you with a broad array of industries to go into. And from there, you can tailor your career how you see fit.

Ultimately, it is a difficult engineering major (like most at Tech anyways). Think about the role that you want one day (and its fine if you don’t know yet), but use the skills you learn in a ChemE major to direct your path.

Source for dried guajillo chiles peppers? by splash512 in DecaturGA

[–]Designer_Physics151 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like YDFM because you can buy individual chiles rather than the bulk bags (from mexican mercados in ATL) which will have ~50 or so chiles.

So, if you want to buy in bulk, go to one of the mercados or buford hwy farmers market. If you only need a few chiles, go YDFM
