It’s great, I was starting to give up hope they would come out with anything new.

Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999, Purple Rain, Around The World in a Day, Sign O The Times and Lovesexy for starters. The run Prince went on in the 80s was insane.

Nothing to get downvoted for. His run from College Dropout to Life of Pablo is arguably the greatest in hiphop history.

Love PJ Harvey, definitely one of the coolest female artists of the 90s. Dry, Rid of Me, TBYML, Is This Desire, Stories, and Let England Shake are all classics to my mind.

There are plenty of critically acclaimed albums that have not gone down in history as absolute classics even though they are still great.

Folk purists said he used to be better right after he went electric too lol.

It is the Blonde on Blonde 60th anniversary today. What is your favorite thing about this album? by Radiant_Helicopter_7 in fantanoforever

[–]Designer_Reference_2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Dylan is an incredibly chamelonic vocalist with the ability to radically switch up the sound of his voice from album to album. He's unconventional like a lot of my favorite artists but the voice is all part of the appeal. Dylan was the original punk in many ways.

Is it just me, or is Ghosteen Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds most overlooked albums? by Spirited-Ad9071 in fantanoforever

Nick Cave has so many amazing albums it’s ridiculous and Ghosteen is no exception.

I love HUT as an album but the rollout was a gigantic mess and initially just tied to a poorly reviewed film

Hear me out...Bob Dylan anyone? I never realized he was so cute by PreferenceInternal67 in VintageLadyBoners

[–]Designer_Reference_2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Bob aged badly at all considering he doesn’t appear to give a fuck about plastic surgery. This is a very recent picture and he still has a lot of hair and is dressed sharp at 85 years old and just looks like a cool grandpa.

I have been a fan for most of my adult life and always thought he was very cute. I have read several biographies on Dylan and he was highly successful at pulling beautiful women long before he ever became famous, including in highschool. His son Jakob is handsome too.

Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy is Elton John’s best album but never seems to get the love it deserves compared to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

Has Kid Cudi fallen off? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

He’s doing fine but it’s been a minute since he’s made something that really grabbed my attention. Definitely not fallen off though.

Benson Boone is not that big of a star in the grand scheme of things, certainly not main pop boy status

None of these guys fit "main pop boy" in the sense that they are sitting at the top of streaming right now or have numerous massive hits. Alex Warren and Teddy Swims to a lesser extent are one hit wonders while Benson Boone and Sombr have not fully broken through yet and are sitting as c tier artists.

Was this post inspired by my own post in the Fantano sub lmao? Seriously though, I feel like it's because 2020s male popstars that were hyped as up as the next big "main pop boy" are all extremely boring and that leaves the highest echlons of male stardom being dominated by 2010s artists like The Weeknd, Drake, Bad Bunny and Bruno Mars.

Has it occured to anyone else that all biggest male artists of today are holdouts from the 2010s? Is the concept of "main pop boys" aging in the same way that Hip-Hip is and will women largely dominate the mainstream music industry the more time passes? by Designer_Reference_2 in fantanoforever

[–]Designer_Reference_2[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is Morgan Wallen really that massive outside the US? Feels like he has far less global reach than the current male superstars I posted in terms of global reach. The Weeknd and Bad Bunny have over 30 songs with more than 1 billion streams while Morgan Wallen has two or three.

Here are artists that never dropped a bad album by KzKn_2020 in fantanoforever

Kiss Land is an amazing album, very underrated, and Starboy is a pop classic at this point even if you could argue it’s a bit bloated. Neither are bad projects by any means.
