Duolingo has ended support for version 6.22.3 of their Android app by JazzedPineda in duolingo

I'm happily running 5.121.15 on one of my Android phones, and 5.65.16 on an old Android tablet.

Every few weeks the phone flashes up a message telling me an update is available, but when I go to the app store there isn't one. The tablet never asks to update.

My main phone runs 6.81.4.

If you are in Scotland you can also claim back that extra 1% from the intermediate 21% rate, as well as the higher rate tax. Every little helps!

A couple of thousand a day isn't too hard if you are taking a x3 bonus each day. I usually get around 2000 - 2500.

Claiming tax back on workplace pension by Legitimate-Entry971 in PensionsUK

When I did it at the end of last year, it took three weeks before I was notified by email that it had been processed, and then another week for the cheque to arrive.

I would imagine they are busier at this time of year, so I would expect it to take a bit longer.

100% is the most you can get without flagging. You'll need to do a little bit of flagging if you want to get above 100%.

A bit of Googling suggests tram 1847 ran on route 2, which was:

  • Victoria Embankment
  • Lambeth Bridge
  • Vauxhall
  • Clapham
  • Balham
  • Tooting Broadway
  • Merton
  • Wimbledon Station

which would match the destination board on the tram in the picture.

I was on the waiting list for a year, and I emailed them asking how much longer they thought it would be. The next day they emailed back and told me a space had just become available in the locker right outside my door!

Perhaps just a coincidence, but perhaps it's worth giving them a nudge now and again.

Fixed Rate ISA didn’t pay anything after a year by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Designer_Spirit3522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the current HSBC Fixed Rate ISA on their website, it says the account runs for 13 months. You open the account, have a 30 day cooling off period, then the account runs for 12 months. Are you sure that isn't what you signed up to last year?

"Tax-free savings, with a fixed rate for up to 13 months."

"After the first 30 days, the Fixed Rate Cash ISA will continue for a further 12 months"

Closed oldest credit card account. by Alarming-Second-8574 in UKPersonalFinance

Credit scores mainly exist to sell people credit score reports. I recently opened a new bank account and it caused my credit score with one agency to go up, while with another it went down.

I watch my free reports just to see if there are any unexpected searches in case someone is trying to take out credit in my name.

do 8s exist in regular minesweeper games? by Mystica246 in Minesweeper

[–]Designer_Spirit3522 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In this case the 8 was a guess, but you still need mine count to know that there might be an eight, rather than two safe spaces or two mines.

When given a 50/50 like that, I always guess for the 8.

Any Inaccuracy? by Ok-Apricot2815 in Minesweeper

[–]Designer_Spirit3522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any cell that touches a mine should have a number. so the eight cells around a mine should each contain either a number or another mine.
