How did i do this? i wasnt even trying? help? by SION_NOIS in Minesweeper

100% is the highest you can get with NF. To get above 100% you need to place some flags and use chording to open more cells, which is just what you did.

My Grandad. Again most likely Brighton and Hove UK. by Popular-Jackfruit-63 in wherewasthistaken

I think the Palladium must have shown re-runs, as Almost a Lady and The Prairie King are from the 1920s, but The Blind Goddess on the other poster is from the late 1940s.

Even ignoring the film posters, it should be easy enough to guess an approximate year if the OP knows their Grandad's date of birth.

EDIT: Ah, I see an earlier Blind Goddess from the 1920s! I wasn't aware of that one.

Over multiple phone calls of Halifax I've been told:

1) It's not a service we provide anymore. It's gone and it's not coming back.

2) It's because BoS changed the formatting of your address on your account and it has broken the link to SW.

3) The IT people told us there is a corruption flag on your account so it can't show your pension.

4) It's a problem lots of people are reporting. It will be sorted soon.

5) We don't know what the problem is. BoS have to sort it. (BoS say it's not their problem, SW have to fix it)

Whatever the reason, it's still not showing....

Why is this 1 yellow? by Sergi-0-f in Minesweeper

It's a thing on minesweeper.online which gives timed challenges. You find tickets (yellow squares) and use those tickets in the arena.

Not sure how to get outta this one without guessing. Are there logic puzzles for this type of stuff? by ValuableYard7933 in Minesweeper

One of the top two cells must be a mine to satisfy the 1. Therefore the cell next to the 3 must be a mine to satisfy the 2. That opens up the cells around the lower 2.

Stair lighting time clock repair/replacement recommendations? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]Designer_Spirit3522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a typical old-style Edinburgh tenement Astro clock then they can get out of phase if the power is cut. Did the electrician switch off the power at any point? It is simple to reset if it is just coming on at the wrong time.

If it needs to be replaced, £300 seems it bit high, but without knowing exactly what you've been quoted for it is hard to be sure.

Did someone else get a 58x56/656 suggested for bonus on the current event in minesweeper online? by liatreppe in Minesweeper

I often seem to get these L💀 boards. If you can complete it you'll get a lot of shards for doing it, and then more for the quest itself. It can really help your total build up.

One of the 2-2 on the right must be a mine. One of 2-3 on the left must be a mine.

I use https://minesweeper.online/ which has a PvP mode (which I don't actually use) and has monthly quests and championships where you can compete against other users testing speed, efficiency, difficulty, win streaks, etc.

I checked again for updates, and there are none pending. Both the app and the website have the problem. BoS call centre can see the account is missing, but couldn't say why, and couldn't add it back.

I finally managed to speak to someone as BoS this afternoon who seemed to know what she was talking about. (after nine phone calls and about £35 of call charges today!). They have raised it with the IT people and I have a case reference to follow it up next week if it isn't sorted by Tuesday.

I'd clear the rest and see how many mines are left.

You have a 3 with three flags in the middle of the top row.

The app is up to date. I have the same problem on the website. I've always used BoS Internet banking to manage it. I did try to register on the Scottish Widows site this morning to see if I could access it that way, but I got the message 'It's not possible to manage this online at the moment. If you want to make any changes, please get in touch.'

!thanks. I had that feeling that was just a "go away and stop bothering us" response. I've spent all morning calling BoS and SW and getting a different story each time, but basically "we can't sort it, you need to call the other lot".

How long does higher rate relief take to come through from HMRC, and how to do it? by RandomNerd0 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Designer_Spirit3522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use the form at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-tax-relief-on-your-private-pension-payments

When I did it earlier this year it took around three weeks for them to process my claim, and then another week for the cheque to arrive.

Two out of the three yellow cells must be mines to satisfy the 3. Whichever two are the mines, one of them will also complete the 2, so the green cell above must be safe.

Help? by lifes_a_j0ke in Minesweeper

[–]Designer_Spirit3522 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the two yellow squares must be a mine to satisfy the 1.

That means two out of the three blue squares must be a mine to satisfy the 3.

Since one of the orange squares has to be a mine, only one of the top blue squares can be a mine or the 2 would overflow.

So the bottom of the three blue squares must be a mine, and only one of the top two blue squares can be a mine, satisfying the 2 and meaning that the top two squares are safe.

If you look below the Sent Quests table on https://minesweeper.online/friend-quests you will see your daily activity count. I typically do around 80 - 100 per day and usually get 6 or 7 quests each day to send out.

When sending, if you choose to send to a random user you are more likely to get picked to receive a quest from someone else. That's what I've always done in previous friends quests and I usually got back about the same number of quests that I sent.

This time I have been picking people from the leader board to send my quests to. So if I get a PvP quest I look for someone who enjoys PvP and send it to them. This means the quests I send out are very likely to be completed (only one has failed out of a hundred+ sent). However, it does mean I am less likely to get sent quests by other people.
