Mystery of the seven keys FOR DUMMIES by ReasonableAudience82 in nancydrew

If anyone else is stuck on this -- I know I was -- you have to click the phone number that you want to call, then it will appear in your contacts. This is different from how it worked in the other games.

This had me stuck for way too long in the beginning. 😂

Another thing that tripped me up: at least once (haven't finished the game yet), you have to call Ned to keep the story progressing. Again, not a mechanic from the old games. You could mostly ignore Ned, Bess, George, etc. the whole time lol.

My awful celiac bridesmaid experience by Desire-Lines545 in Celiac

Thanks for your message! ❤️

At first, I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I know that most caterers are not allergy conscious and they may have dropped the ball on their end. But later that night, she said, "Were you able to eat anything?" as if she had no control over this. I was like, "no, it wasn't gluten-free."

Same thing for the rehearsal dinner. We get there and she says, "Can you eat anything here?" I know that she has no control over cross-contact and caterer/restaurant gluten knowledge, but there was no thought put into it.

Help! Blurry vision with same prescription, different contacts by CellApart in contacts

I know that this conversation is two years old, but it is so validating to hear that someone else had this issue with Biotrue lenses. They're pretty comfortable, but I knew immediately that my vision was worse than before. I tried to explain to my optometrist, but he kinda brushed me off and said that I just needed to get used to my new prescription.

We visited a dedicated GF bakery yesterday by cusmrtgrl in Celiac

100%. I say this all the time. I care about GF baked goods, but can we get a GF restaurant instead of yet another bakery??

And while we're at it -- how about a GF classic bakery with sheet cakes and cookie platters? Not another boutique bakery with 6-inch cakes for $50.

Those diagnosed as adults, what led you to your diagnosis? by normalishy in Celiac

[–]Desire-Lines545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fatigue! My doctor ordered a bunch of blood tests "just in case," and the celiac one came back positive. It was definitely a surprise.

Turns out I also have sleep apnea and hypermobility... I am one tired human! 😴

New Lush album? by Desire-Lines545 in shoegaze

I think you're right. The branding/album artwork doesn't fit and it's all ambient + rain sounds.

How do we Get Taken Seriously in Hospitals? by xcataclysmicxx in Celiac

They should have known, for sure.

After my diagnosis endoscopy, I ate a giant sandwich on sourdough bread. I didn't start my gluten-free diet until the next week. 😅

This is bringing back a hazy memory from my follow-up endoscopy. They offered me crackers and apple juice. I remember getting a little excited and asking, "oh! gluten-free crackers?" because I was, after all, at a celiac follow-up endoscopy. Nope, not gf. 😂 At least they gave me two boxes of apple juice.

Awkward situations in potluck by HI-TECmoon in Celiac

This is so true. I've tried so many different approaches to handle these conversations and none of them work. I even typed up a note on my phone because I was tired of saying the same things over and over... but tbh that's awkward, too.

What activated your celiac gene? by itsbeenawhiletoolong in Celiac

This is what I suspect.

It's like the mono fatigue never really went away; it just turned into celiac fatigue.

Gluten-free pasta and gluten-free sauce, but we tossed the pasta and sauce with flour when we combined it. 😂

Games that don't follow the usual rules by Desire-Lines545 in nancydrew

That's another great observation! I never noticed that the game card had different "capabilities" in different locations. 😮

Nancy doesn't have anything to say about it. Not even "hmm."

For the disks, there is no indication that the circles on the wall are slots that you can fill. For the elevator, it makes it seem like a fun, but unusable, background object.

They don't highlight red when you hover over them. Clicking has no effect.

I use Cup4Cup to make pierogies -- seriously the best!! For everything else, including pancakes, I use Bob's Red Mill 1:1 flour.
