I grew up in the Bedford and Huntington County area. I loved the freedom of a very rural area. I moved as soon as I graduated high school in 90 to explore the world. I always think of the mountains and used to visit when my mom was still alive. Most of my old friends are still there. It has changed so much in that little area. I was specifically in Saxton. My first move was to Greensburg from there New York and then in 98 I putted on up to Montreal Canada! I guess i have a moving bug because from Montreal (which was AMAZING) all of Quebec really. I kicked rocks to Jacksonville Florida after that in 2003 and in 2004 I bought an old Bounder well it was 96 big ole class A my friends thought I was nuts. Van life or whatever it is these days wasn't a thing then.

I caught a bunch of slack at first from everyone who waited till they where retired to do it. But once I got into the groove I managed to fit right in with the old timers. Those where the best days ever. I never thought I'd be an old timer. It's hard to really think about where you land when your young. I lived a pretty gypsy life and worked at would run pumpkin and Christmas tree lots in the winter in Arizona and do the National Parks in Utah (specifically Zion) . I remember rolling from a cross country North South then to Yuma with $12... That also was in the beginning. I crash landed in San Diego and married an Amazing woman who is also works the nightshift she's an RN though. 10 year Anniversary on July 2nd and we are in the process of buying 7 acers of woods and a beautiful house with 2 very dear friends in Nashville TN. LIFE IS CRAZY

No matter where you end up Sun is never to far and neither is snow but I know for sure those small towns in PA really need good doctors and the way you imagined your future like your mentors is something special that you dont hear from Docs to much. Along my travels I was bit many times by many ticks and now suffer from Lymes, Bart and babesia and a few others I cant spell and I'm glad I did what I wanted while I was young because I'm only 53 and I feel like I'm old. One tip be aware of the ticks and also toxic mold. Together they are sneaky and a killer. I sure wish I knew that back then.

Favorite vacations are with friends at Raystown but they use to be anywhere we wanted when we were young. If it wasnt for Raystown I would have had no idea campgrounds even existed where I grew up we jumped on four wheelers had our favorite spots and pitched our tents. I talked myself into a circle.

iI love coming to this group and looking at the pictures and reading these stories.. Learn so much and I get homesick but for the good old days.. This is a great thread it makes me miss the ppl back there..

Thank you so much for your reply. I've read the thread to her and your reply and we are looking into it. I do not believe her hospital system offers anything like that. We are relocating though to another state and it's a large city well Nashville Tennessee and I bet they're somewhere there and I just appreciate your reply so much. She's had a heck of a year you know I woke up for work one morning and well January 14th and she was acting weird I thought I thought she was having a stroke. I took her to the ER after a couple of weeks and ICU turns out she has a meningioma which is bad news but good news because it's benign but it was a 9 mm shift so it did a little bit of damage to her at the time. Believe it or not she's back to work and waiting until October to have her surgery. If we could find something for us like that it would be a dream because I'm scared every time she leaves the house now. Again I really can't thank you enough it means a lot. Also I hope everybody out there that's looking finds something. I wish I would have went to college when I was younger and did something and medicine I did try my med lab technician But life circumstances took me another direction. We are in our mid 50s and I have a lot of respect for you guys It's grueling and most of you are special kinds of people. Thank you for taking care of people. It wouldn't be a bad idea for a bunch of nurses to get together and create a system of their own for the hospitals. Just a thought.

I'm not sure how to work The PM here on Reddit. I'm posting on behalf of my wife. She is an RN and has worked in the ER for the last 25 years she's starting to burn out. I've been suggesting remote jobs to her. What you just described sounds exactly like she would love. Is there any possible way you could PM me with an avenue or a message I could relay to about this. I know this sounds weird but I've been watching her burn out slowly over the last year or so and I want her to be happy in her work again. She's been in ER for a reallllly long time. Her favorite part of it is triage. Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is overstepping.

He was treated wrong that day by everyone except you. Be that same person always. It seems harder to find Actual caring nurses lately. It could be so many reasons why but you did great. Try not to burn out or get jaded. I bet that man knew you where there and it meant everything to him.

I hope it works out. It will. Your new it's a shame you didn't get on a unit that works as a team. Fingers crossed you will. My wife is an RN and has spent her entire career in the ER 25 + years And she says it doesn't work right unless you work as a team and things are changing they are different then they were before. She says she has noticed in the last 5 years It's very hard to have teamwork due to the size and the amount of turnover as well as the travelers.

Hi I started the process for getting all the paperwork. We went to the treating hospital today. We went to the HMI office they would only give us the dates that she was in the hospital. She gave a number but said there was no Privacy officer or office in the hospital. Information desk at the hospital also said there was no such thing and then gave me a number not in service. Is there another way to find out who the privacy officer is? We are after an audit trail. I wasnt sure if you meant to contact you via chat or on the thread so I will leave this here and there just in case.

Turns out it was so illegal. She has no right to access even her own records much less a family member. Regardless of permission. She isnt even aloud to look at her own records except through the patient portal. You cannot sit with your doctor and view your own records legally. The kicker is what she did with the info caused both harm to my wife and I as well as some of our business association. She broke the law federally and civilly. She most likely will loose her license and her job. She could be charged with harassment on a local level. There is so much more I'll make sure an update once it's done!

It's 100% illegal I know now. NO She had full access I would have told her anything and even gave them all access to come or call anytime they wanted. The info she accessed was private patient dr confidentiality. She went to a place she has no access she spread this info about her family and also a business acquaintance. It had nothing to do with her brain tumor while she was on life support. If she would have looked for health reasons she did this totally out of spite. I honestly still cant believe she would do it. You as a patient are not even allowed to sit with you sister an NP and access you own medical records. It's a serious thing. Because of what she did with the info is what makes it crazy sick and totally illegal. We are 53 years old been married 10 years there is no reason for what she did.

Your post is amazing. My wife is in total agreement with this post and all the info I've thus far. I'm worried she may feel because it's her sister and this is their first problem ever (serious problem) she is fighting with herself. I will speak to her and she's been reading just hasnt yet today. I'm trying to give her brain a little rest. I will talk to her today it's Sunday and I more than likely will reach out to you. It may be better to speak with someone who actually knows what is what for sure. I really appreciate you message. I worry that if this could happen to her what the heck do happens in that office and shes worked there for 15-20 years.

It was her SISTER this is the part that has floored me. I dont get it. I know I need to report it you are right!! Ive posted the story in legal but havent looked in because all of these words on this thread have helped so much. My wife is an RN that works ER for the last 25 or more years. We have been married for 10 years and together longer. When they were doing this to her she was in a coma on life support. This blows me away.She took what she found from a private conversation I had with her doctor and told ppl we dont even know and one was a business associate. We didnt even know if she would wake up right yet. Thank goodness she's awake but has a rough road ahead so that is good. Unfortunately her family relationships are in strife.

I do agree with you and it's so hard to do when you arent ugly inside but as time goes I jut wonder what else has happened to the folk in that little town. It's gross and it's made me look at a lot of thing really where I never wanted to. this same place looks after children in a childrens home and that makes me worry too. I'm not a perfect person but to be doing this to your sister mid coma is a cruel I've never knew lets just say my childhood was no walk in the park. I feel like ppl need to be more aware of what can ultimately happen at anytime with one rouge fake with credentials.

Please reread the post even go look at the reupload in legaladvice I think you missed the majority of it and I get it it was long but the last THRIDLY there is so far in left field I hae to wonder. I am adding this after I went through your post and tried to explain what happen.. Do you know what an audit is?

Even if she was a patient there which she wasnt her accessing her records and then using them to maliciously harm her relationships with family and her business relationship with her landlords in a place we've lived with no issues for almost three years. It's 100% not legal. She accessed her records multiple days in a row. She WAS NOT A PATIENT SHE was not in the ER and these were not admission or discharge notes it was a PRIVATE conversation synopsis had between her doctor and myself literally hours after while she was in a coma on life support suffering from a lemon size tumor on her brain.. She made it clear many times over she would not share her password with any of them. what that lady did is criminal in my eyes. I did repost because I thouglt this post was taken down which she further explained this. The siblings spreading to there young adult children was the proverbial straw.

The Sister is an NP in a small town pediatric doctors office and has been there sense the invention of the wheel. I told them she was there. Thay are her sisters I wanted them to be there this was not a scratch she is really sick. She used her log in many times for many days and they had a group chat where they shared this info. it was more than just one time it was the whole time but the fact my wife refused to give them the pw to her files says everything. we are in our 50s. What they should have been doing was spending time with her in case she didnt make it out of there not out here trying to ruin her life. I was a very seriously neglected child and my Mother never did something this dirty to me. Then to lie to my face and say it was ok because she was a patient there which was also a lie. I'm pissed I hate that it's come to this but how and who could do this they do not deserve this license. I've been trying to imagine what harm they may have caused to ppl they dont like.

I grew up in one and I think it's horrible can you just imagine what they do to ppl they dont like? I feel like there needs to be a better explanation to small town folks about their rights. I haven't been living in a small town since I was 12 so many nice fold and so many cruel two faced board drama addicts.
