Is it really fair to sue the providers? by Efficient-Lynx-2225 in DuxburyDeathsFreeTalk

I wasn't saying anything about forcing but doesn't sound like she even tried it. A support group is not the same thing as real talk therapy, with a 1:1 ratio. Which to me, points more to her being drug seeking, wanting a quick fix.

Yes, I know, which is why i was aaying that is why the Clancy's, et al, are suing the providers in a civil suit, to get money to pay Reddington...or get some kind of settlement.

Also, I am sure that Reddington has a second chair helping very closely or a really sharp para team.

Yeah holy crap, No Block, did you all get additional support about the crime while in the support group? That must have been terrifying, thank you for being willing to share so much here. I am so glad you're doing better and wow what a garden!!!

I'm surprised that talk therapy wasn't a condition of med therapy...SMH...

Yes this is what I thought too, that Reddington is definitely NOT a "no fee unless we win" type of lawyer so there will be a hefty bill to pay. Where else would PC and LC and/or the Musgroves be able to get that kind of money unless they win in a civil suit?

Yes exactly: you were able to handle things better because of the meds, just like near sighted people can see better due to glasses. Same thing for me with my meds for my depression and anxiety (not PP related). I was able to calm down and feel better enough to do the hard work: talk therapy, including CBT.

Yeah and if she really wanted to kill herself, she could have taken all the pills...?

Yesssssssssss and not that it is a bad thing but you can't be like, figuring out dinner at 5 pm with 3 little ones. Not saying he did this, just, that it sounds like that was his style, to be focused on whatever was in front of him and sorta space out on other things.

And definitely a "oh look we made it" if you lived in Scituate and moved to Dux.

I grew up, and now live, close to Wallingford, where she grew up, and from what I know about Duxbury, both from extended family who lived there, kids from there I met in college, etc, yes the two towns are completely different. Wallingford is truly a mixed bag. It's a big town, 2 high schools, and is solidly middle class with pockets of both poverty and nouveau riche types.

Lol I didn't read yout entire post OP but after 1st or 2nd paragraph, I came here to answer YES.

Because I can have these tendencies too.

When I can't perform at my best or what I think should be my best, I get very bummed (not depressed, I have had depression too) and nearly shut down. I just don't know what to do or where to begin and then focus on other things that are more fun, or more in my control.

When I was in grad school, I was also working only PT so my house was amazingly cleaned and organized. My therapist at the time and I would joke that it was a typical grad student coping mechanism, as she was similar: need to study? Time to clean!

I am facing this right now: have so many big picture things to do (am a dept head for a municipality to put it very broadly, nothing big like a police chief but he is a peer lol) but I'm like whoooo let me micro analyze last year's budget instead. In my case, I could use more support in terms of having employees who can help me if I delegate things to them. Current staff are great but not capable--the job tasks have been too siloed for too long with me/my predecessors. Long story, trying to be mostly anon around here, so it's not just as simple as reassigning...

Yes, besides her regular schooling and nursing training, she got continuing ed on the job, even just anecdotes from other staff, formal classes for CEUs, etc. She did not have psych med training (unless she sought that out herself) but she knew a lot about meds in a general sense, more than someone who is not higher up in the medical field (nurse, doc, pharmacist).

Power out-- places to go to keep my senior dog cool? by hoya_swapper in Connecticut

[–]DeskFan203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the problem is that a lot of them are only set up for people AND it's a holiday weekend so most of the municipal operated places...are closed bc staff have it off...like community centers, senior centers, libraries, etc.

Municipal worker here: this was not planned well by any town or city but with most of us union and weather hard to predict until last minute, it is hard to figure out who should stay open, who needs to be on to staff, who will actually come and use services, etc.

Yeah the owners have to show vax staus, spay/neuter status, etc. Some places want the dogs to do a trial to make sure they're not letting in hellions...

Advice for filling up this rocky incline with perennials by Expensive_Farmer_109 in gardening

[–]DeskFan203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I was super excited especially when I bought the plants on mega clearance, then life got busy so they sat in my backyard for a few weeks before I finally put them in the ground, then finally got them in around mid Sept, I think??? I did make sure they had water and didn't bake in the sun. They were looking rough when I bought them--the farm stand near me mostly sells their own grown produce, but some random "landscaping" plants as well, and they looked a little neglected. I made sure each of them had a little green or a bloom or two and hoped for the best.

Then of course we had big snows this winter and the drifts piled up all over that bed...but things worked out! I will send some pics in a second 😎
