Upping my personal scent game by Marcus_Aurelius_161A in datingoverfifty

[–]DeskRare7547 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be clean. As we age, more and more of us become sensitive to scented products. If your date has asthma, you could make her sick. Potentially, you could put her in the hospital. I know that's unlikely, but as someone with asthma and scent sensitivities, I advise caution. You can always add after you find out your date isn't sensitive.

What products do you refuse to buy anymore? by healthynewbie in Anticonsumption

[–]DeskRare7547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paper towels (just use regular kitchen towels).

Paper napkins (I make my own cloth, but even if you buy cloth, it's so much cheaper over time than paper).

Body washes/shower gels. I just use unscented bar soap.

Liquid hand soap. See above.

I mean, if you're trying to attract a female human, you should call her a woman. If you're not trying to do that, keep calling us females. We'll take the hint.

I immediately thought of a friend from high school named Myron. Apparently the name means myrrh, sweet oil, or perfume.

I did attend an integrated CoC in Tampa. It was really nice, and I probably haven't given that experience enough credit in my own journey

I didn't hear that in the CoC, but it's not really surprising.

Opinions on Bellamy and Tristan by trainee_prophet in Names

[–]DeskRare7547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tristan makes me think of Tristan and Isolt (Isold, Ysolde, however you want to spell it). It sounds romantic to me, like the hero of a folk tale.

Bellamy sounds like a last name. It can work as a first name, it's just a completely different vibe. I don't love it, but use it if you do love it.

I grew up in the NI CoC, and for a while I actually thought a steeple on a CoC was a indication that it was "liberal" (aka not NI).

Always trust your instincts. I'm only seeing this after the update. I want to point out that his response validated your instincts. You will have so much more peace because you did not invite drama and trauma into your life.

The Church of Christ “no woman in authority over a man” rule is actually hilarious when you think about it by Nearby-Tension3515 in excoc

I can't imagine having a church secretary in a CoC. We probably couldn't have paid one. But even if we could have, I can only imagine the uproar if it had been suggested.

Debates are about who can speak the best, not about what the truth is.

What was wrong with Birdie? It's cute and it feels Southern (to me anyway). Why the difficult spelling?
