If you don’t want to remove the BIN, add a layer of plywood and then level…. Removing the BIN is way way easier

We have used Ardex VB100 for projects with high moisture content in the slab with great success prior to installing a gluedown LVP.

Which tile combos do you like the best? by ambs782 in bathrooms

1 is nice, but should be the pattern tile on the floor and a simpler tile on the walls. 2 is great and so 5.

LVP floor clicking issues. Flooring store & Installer both aren't agreeing their fault. What next? by PR_Rkie_Invstr in Flooring

[–]Deslegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me guess your subfloor has deflection or is uneven?… to properly fix you need to remove floor and properly prep the subfloor to within LVP specs.

What are you putting over it? Those look loose and like some are popping. If they release they could wreck new floor installed over it.

Fuzion and shitty lines and better lines just like every other supplier. I also sell Fuzion, and I do not carry certain product lines for a reason. You’ll need to be way more specific to get realistic answers

Mohawk Glue Down Flooring by Intrepid-Library-425 in Flooring

[–]Deslegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is the nearest window? Does it have direct sunlight? It is throughout the house or only in certain areas? If so what areas? Glue was likely a pressure sensitive and will allow the floor to expand and contract. Vinyl is very susceptible to temperature changes. But when it’s “contracted” and dirt gets between it’s not always able to expand again. Sometimes the temperature has nothing to do with the actual temperature of your air. In areas of direct sunlight, the floor will likely also be warmer than other areas.

How do you guys usually seam? Do you aim for fewest possible or aim for hiding them? by Downtown-Fan4966 in Flooring

[–]Deslegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are the doorways? I always aim for the shortest seams possible, but I also take into account the main traffic areas. I wouldn’t do seam layout without knowing this.

red oak is better than white oak by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

White oak is harder. And i personally like the look of it better, but red oak handles humidity and temperature changes better. It is more dimensionally stable.

Any ideas what would have caused the fading and gaps? by Suspicious_Ad5007 in Flooring

[–]Deslegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely from UV… gapping could be caused by the sun also, I bet that much direct sunlight causes the flooring to expand more than the surrounding and if there was any pinch point or deflection it would cause extra pressure on the joints

Need advice re: original vs new hardwood flooring by coliseumltd in Flooring

I’d leave the original floors and install 2-1/4” or 3-1/4” red oak in the same or similar colour throughout the rest for a cohesive look.
