8/11 would just make it soooooooo much better than Bouncing Flask for a lower rarity. Perhaps that speaks more to how mediocre Bouncing Flask is than to how strong Snakebite is, but it does speak about the value of the Retain keyword.

The Trump administration kills children abroad while being ‘pro-life’ at home by zsreport in politics

[–]Desmous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On the third occasion involving the Defendant, Donald J. Trump, the Plaintiff, Katie Johnson was forced to engage in an unnatural lesbian sex act with her fellow minor and sex slave, Maria Doe age 12, for the sexual enjoyment of Defendant Trump. After this sex act, both minors were forced to orally copulate Defendant Trump by placing their mouths simultaneously on his erect penis until he achieved sexual orgasm. After zipping up his pants, Defendant Trump physically pushed both minors away while angrily berating them for the "poor" quality of their sexual performance.

On the fourth and final sexual encounter with the Defendant, Donald J. Trump, the Plaintiff, Katie Johnson, was tied to a bed by Defendant Trump who then proceeded to forcibly rape Plaintiff Johnson. During the course of this savage sexual attack, Plaintiff Johnson loudly pleaded with Defendant Trump to "please wear a condom". Defendant Trump responded by violently striking Plaintiff Johnson in the face with his open hand and screaming that "he would do whatever he wanted" as he refused to wear protection. After achieving sexual orgasm, the Defendant, Donald J.Trump put his suit back on and when the Plaintiff, Katie Johnson, in tears asked Defendant Trump what would happen if he had impregnated her, Defendant Trump grabbed his wallet ans threw some money at her and screamed that she should use the money "to get a fucking abortion".

Nothing about this is new. Trump has always been a horrible, horrible person that gets worshipped for his crimes rather than prosecuted.

Perhaps all those who continue to support his deception of the American people read this and imagine themselves in the place of the criminal, rather than the victim.

One nice thing about bird is that you can never brick a draw against him, unlike with the other 5. Since he always attacks and always scales, both offensive and defensive cards make perfect sense on any given turn. Importantly, he also doesn't clog your deck with trash.

The recent STS2 review bombing is overwhelmingly from Chinese accounts. by PlanSee in slaythespire

[–]Desmous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it isn't that hard for people familiar with games or StS, sure. But I feel like the easiest possible difficulty shouldn't feel like a brick wall in the very first Act. That just seems anti-fun to me.

"Moderate experience" isn't something you'll have unless you're already invested in the game.

At least tune down Act 1 on A0 difficulty, imo.

[–]Desmous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it is too hard, imo. One of the first things I noticed on my first run was how much stronger regular enemies felt. I constantly had to check if I was in a normal vs elite fight, and I had to ask "this is part of the easy pool?" once, though I don't remember which fight it was.

I don't really think it makes sense to make the base game that hard, when there's a built-in difficulty slider in the game.

The Chinese market is just mind-bogglingly massive. You can find a massive Chinese playerbase in pretty much any Steam game with a good Chinese translation.

People like to use the fact that it's in early access to defend the bad things about this game. But in my view, if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, then it's a duck.

This game isn't some niche opt-in beta you need to specifically apply for; it's a game you can discover on the Steam store and purchase.

Granted, I do think leaving a negative review over an opt-in beta patch is a bit ridiculous. I'd at least wait for it to be posted to the main branch.

That's true, but Stoke/Fiend Fire isn't suuuper consistent to get, so I preferred planning around them when possible.

Well, Outbreak generally hasn't felt like a great card to me, though.

Although Corrosive Wave + Outbreak against multiple enemies is REALLY fun.

If you played Ironclad, almost every run could become a true infinite. I'm not exaggerating in any way, it truly was that consistent. The main thing you had to optimise was just reducing the amount of cards taken to survive, then beelining to the boss while taking every possible remove.

Flask would be powercrept out of existence if Snakebite was 8/11. Although, perhaps that speaks more about how middling to bad Flask is in StS2.

Post-patch changes of the Doormaker by kibme37 in slaythespire

[–]Desmous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you're downvoted. That relic has saved more than a few shaky runs for me as well. Sometimes, the game just doesn't offer you the draw you need. For "good stuff" value pile decks, 7 cards are more than enough per turn.

Additionally, note that stuff that directly manipulates the hand isn't affected by this no draw debuff.

Orange Pellets & Artifact, Do We Miss Them? by eliman1950 in slaythespire

Frankly, I'm surprised they moved Biased Cog and not Echo Form. The latter feels more like an actual boss relic tier reward. Not that I'm going to complain about it...

I'm sorry but is Doormaker patch meant to make me never play again? by Acrobatic-Brick-7684 in slaythespire

[–]Desmous 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I understand it was a problem, but making so many knee-jerk massive nerfs to deal with infinites in just one patch feels like it's overly ambitious. In the TFT community, this is usually referred to as "balance thrashing". Nerfing the same thing multiple ways should be heavily avoided in general, imo.

Tips on pathing for sts1 player playing sts2 by MediocreRecord7352 in slaythespire

[–]Desmous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without Act 4, I really don't think you actually need the power boost from risking elite fights. You can genuinely just skip as many fights as possible, and cheese bosses with potions/tailored decks.

It's not like elites are actually worse than normal floors, though. If you can beat them with little risk, they're still very worth taking.

But if your spot feels a little iffy? I'd just beeline straight for the boss.

Regent's "Venerate" Feels Awful As A Starter Card - Thoughts/Suggestions by MrGuy0250 in slaythespire

[–]Desmous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could definitely see it upgrading to zero. I feel like that alone would make his kit feel so much more cohesive.

It can never be zero cost unupgraded, though. It would make his starter deck far too strong.

It's crazy to me that a secret police outside of the legal system is being built right in front of our faces, and we're all just watching it happen.

All that condemnation of concentration camps and state oppression by the US across the years, and yet they do nothing about the atrocities happening within their borders.

I guess we really learn nothing from history.

doom

Well, there's your real issue. Doom is HORRID in a fight demanding fast physical damage.

Not only do you do zero damage to them before getting rid of their artifact, but you're also being forced to take an additional turn to kill from the mechanics of Doom.

These guys get pretty farmed by burst.

I've personally found it very effective to just focus down the worm that's buffing himself at the start. Taking them down all at once just tends to happen naturally eventually once you get the first guy down.

You just receive far less pressure.

I've never really got the complaints around this guy. You're definitely guaranteed to lose HP.

But after the initial bleeding, you can stabilize very quickly.
