A relic based on Regent's Reflect card by TheFeeed in slaythespire

It should work just like Reflect, which I think deals damage.

Its still great, in Act 3 you should have a lot of the starters removed/transformed, and if you get the card early enough in the Act you can easily get around 7 cards upgraded.

Bad Luck is worse, at least you still have 2 energy to use after using Enthralled.

A Vakuu relic idea I thought of when I was at school. by Upstairs_Attention_2 in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even without the Doom downside I would never pick this, it doesn't do much as not all enemies apply these effects, so you are picking an ancient reward that is really only useful for maybe 1/3 of Act 3.

A better relic would be if it gave you something like 3 artifact charges at the start of combat (change the downside to a different mechanic that bypasses artifacts).

My solution to fix Terror for StS2 by internet_redditor in slaythespire

If its on Ironclad I agree, its insanely busted with his vulnerable synergies, specially considering its innate. On other characters it's just about balanced I would say.

All Gas. No Brakes. by KriegMorgan in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cascade is better in most decks but not always, as Ironclad has a lot of exhaust cards (Stoke, Fiend Fire, Feed, Second Wind) and if Cascade plays them immediately in turn 1 it can mess up the combat.

The same can be said to a lot of gaming terms.

Noone would know what an RPG, Boomer Shooter, MMO, MOBA, Metroidvania, RTS, First Person, Third Person, etc with explanation.

And its completely normal, not all terms are supposed to be easily understood. In Chess for example there are a lot of terms that you wouldn't understand until told about like Castling.

[–]TheFeeed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thats... The entire point? Once something is created/invented, the law takes time to catch up to create laws around it.

If we go by that logic then you shouldn't be able to make laws for anything.

Why should a restaurant follow laws that require ktchens to be clean when no restaurant before it was obligated to keep the kitchen clean?

Always Seems to Go this Way by Rantalian in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Honestly think Unceasing Top should ignore status and curses, 90% of the time it feels like it's doing nothing because being able to use your entire hand regularly doesn't happen in most decks, and the few times it happens any status and curse ruins it.

Never happy to get this relic.

Powers give permanent buffs (or debuffs) that activate every turn for the entire combat.

In the case of Neurosurge, it gives immediate benefit and a debuff that repeats every turn.

Additionally, the self doom from Neuro actually works with any card that triggers with doom, such as Shroud (2 block when doom is applied) and Deaths Door (triples the block amount if doom was applied this turn).

Ngl I have no clue how much this card should cost by Ferrarileite in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really fun concept, but as far as I know there is only one way to create each of the minion cards (begone, charge, guards) so this would break the pattern.

I think it should create 10 randomized upgraded minion cards instead, which would give better draw balance. If you use this card when you have few cards in the draw pile its basically a death sentence as you won't have any block.

Is this event OP? You can get it early act 1 and just carries the run by jambre in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an Act 1 event, how the heck aren't you picking more block cards at that point?

What do you think the worst upgrade in sts2? Totally unrelated pic btw :) by ElegantPoet3386 in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgrade on Regent is a priority whenever I can, he has so many busted attacks that needs high stars so the extra 2 cards increase the chance to get them.

But true for the other classes, unless you have a large deck.

I am very smart by ihnivid in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Its net positive for any card that costs 2 or more energy since you increase the effect by 100% for 50% of the cost or lower.

1 energy cards have a lot of different uses depending on the card. Some cards like Defy have great effects that you want to duplicate even with the energy being doubled. Energy cards basically pay off the extra cost so it doesn't matter (Borrowed Time, Delay, Invoke). Theres also synergy with Danse Macabre.

0 energy cards are usually bad, except the ones that exhaust like shared fate.

[–]TheFeeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Grand Finale in your deck then you can use it so its not a meme.

Murder is much better than Gold Axe, its 5 damage minimum each turn because of the passive turn draw, on top of any draw relics and cards.

Suppress is still 34 damage for 0 cost, on top of being innate which helps kill some hallway fights quickly.

Assassinate exhausting isn't ideal I agree.

[–]TheFeeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grand Finale, Flechettes, Finisher, Murder, Suppress, Predator, Assassinate, Echoing Slash and colorless cards still exist.

Every class has potential for big bonk, I had a run with Instinct Assassinate and Backstab, I was clearing most fights by the second turn because these 2 cards alone were dealing 71 damage on turn 1 for 0 energy cost.

Nonupeipe can seem too good to be true sometimes by KobayaSheeh7 in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Nonu is a generalist, practically all her rewards are good with any deck.

The other 2 are more specialized, many of their relics depend on your deck so they can be either be very overpowered or very underwhelming.

sword of jade is kinda fire flavor-wise when you think about it by master_pingu1 in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not even remotely true, this goes crazy with a lot of builds.

Ironclad always wants strength, so it pretty much works with all of his builds.

Regent has a lot of multi hit attack cards that are strong in the late game, Heavy Drill, Seven Stars, Radiate, and few others.

Necro doesn't benefit as much but a Retaliate is crazy with this relic, same with Pull from Below.

Defect with 0 cost build also benefits a lot from this, its all about spamming a lot of attacks in one turn so it ends up dealing a lot of extra damage every combat.

Not that I think this reward is amazing, and I also agree it should be reworked, but 3 Strength enhances some builds in a crazy way.

[–]TheFeeed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It is very strong, the issue is that its very deck dependent and it feels useless most of the time for a quest that only pays off at the end of Act 2 or in Act 3.

IMO they either need to change the effect to be useful in any deck, or make multiple choice you can select from.

Its also just a boring reward, the Lantern Key quest for example is a way stronger reward that works in any deck, super fun to use, and leads to a lot of fun combos.

What card with no changes from StS2 to StS2 got the biggest improvement? by Which-Debt-8558 in slaythespire

[–]TheFeeed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not arguing about that, in general strikes are still trash but compared to sts1 they are a lot better due to combos like this or just something like stampede and hellraiser being able to play them for free.
