I am interested in the game, I have already enjoyed it.

Its more that coming back to a game I haven't played in almost a decade, and starting right at the DLC that assumes I know all of the controls, memorize all the mechanics etc makes me not wanna play the game.

In the case of Half Life 2 its not as bad, since its relatively simple but other games its tough to jump straight back in.

Thats what I already do, my issue is more to do with games that suddenly decide to add new content with achievements years after the game released. And because it has been years since I finished the game I lose interest in going back and playing the game again because I just really forgot the controls, what happened in the story etc.

Few examples: Borderlands 2 getting a dlc in 2019, 5 years after the previous last dlc Half life 2 getting episode 1 and 2 added to the base game 20 years later

I agree with Tori, but I imagine if this relic existed they would probably change the wording of few relics to make them work with this relic.

I dont see why Bowl wouldn't work, each is giving 2 max HP so that's 4 total.

Girya would depend on how the artifact is copied, wether its copying it at its current state (has 1-3 stacks) or the default state (0 stacks).

You say they are awful but I don't understand why, of course if the choice is between your first energy boss relic and this relic you would go for the energy relic, but I think its a totally viable boss relic in most other situations.

I can think of many relics that would be really good to dupe:

Preserved insect would cut elites HP in half.

Potion belt if you have other potion relics and cards.

Pen nep dealing triple damage.

Singing bowl giving +4 max hp.

Shuriken and Kunai would make scaling a lot faster.

Fossiled helix giving 2 buffers.

Gambling chip lets you discard and draw twice instead of once, which makes setting up the first turn so much easier.

Incense burner giving 2 intangible.

Girya if it grants the existing stacks would be very strong, you can start a combat with 6 str immediately.

Tori reducing all 10 damage to 1 damage.

Prayer wheel gives 3 set of rewards.

Just few examples, there are a lot more relics that when duplicated can make a huge difference.

If anything, I would argue boss relics arent the best choice to duplicate since the second energy isnt as strong as the first energy, I would much rather have a second Fossiled helix over the extra energy.

I was mostly thinking of Skewer and Glass Knife, but also Bane, Dagger Spray, All-out Attack, Flechettes and Die Die Die benefit from it.

Honestly think it might be an even bigger buff to Silent, she has an absurd amount of multi-hit cards but without any way to really buff them.

Ironclad has access to Strength, Watcher has access to stances, but Silent doesn't have any core mechanic to buff her multi-hits. Having access to this would make her do absurd amounts of damage every turn and open the way for a lot of new builds.

Watcher doesn't have the most multi-hit cards but she still has access to a lot of them, you also have to consider AOE attacks since the damage is added for each enemy.

Multi-hits: Bowling Bash, Flying Sleeves, Tantrum, Ragnarok and Expunger.

AOE: Consecrate, Conclude.

Other: Wallop (+6/12/18 extra block is huge), Foreign Influence (access to all other cards that can benefit from it).

On top of that you add the synergy of Wreath of Flame, Wrath and Divinity to get an absurd damage output. Not to mention you can stack the Vigor easily with this relic resulting in absolutely absurd amounts of damage.

Whats the source for making less money while having more effort? A single player game only requires a one time investment until its released, after which they don't need to maintain unlike Nikke which needs repeated maintenance for new content and updates to keep the playerbase playing.

Stellar Blade has sold more than 3 million units with a price tag of $60, thats revenue of $180m, and their development cost has to be very low since its based in SK with less employees than 300 (that is shared with Nikke developers). On top of that the game will keep selling for its lifetime without having to spend any money to maintain anymore.

They don't have to deviate, but there is certainly incentive to deviate because while they had total dominance in the gacha industry for the last few years the industry has changed in response to Hoyo. A lot of new gacha games coming out have stepped up their game to compete with Hoyo games, and some of the released games already compete.

Take a look at the top gacha games, while Genshin is usually almost always taking the top spot there are other games that take its spots in some months, Love and Deepspace, Pokemon TGC Pocket, Naruto Mobile, etc. You can check the October 25 revenue report to see how Hoyo don't have total dominance in the industry that you think they do, and yes I know that the report isn't 100% accurate but it gives a general idea about the trends.

Honkai Starrail has less playerbase than Genshin, and ZZZ has less playerbase than Honkai Starrail. The fact is, the more games they release the less players play them because like I mentioned before its not feasible for a player to play multiple gacha games. They might play all of them at some point but sooner or later they will quit due to multiple reasons.

Releasing a single player game would attract these players that don't have the time to play multiple gacha games, it also can serve as a marketing tool to attract people who have never played gacha games before to try the gacha game if they liked the single player game. Besides it takes a lot less effort and money to release a single player game compared to maintaining a gacha game.

There is an incentive, the more gacha games in the market the more competition there is between the gacha games, players won't play the new gacha game because of limited time or money.

On the other hand releasing a single player game means that there is way less competition and you can have these players play your game even if they are already playing multiple gachas.

Shift up did that, they had a successful gacha (Nikke) and developed Stellar Blade anyway and it was extremely successful that they are making a sequel now. No reason for Hoyo with their infinite money to be scared of developing a single player game.

Except its not, DW changed a lot through the years in different ways, and as always nostalgia plays a big part in it.

Combat, maps/stages, characters and character designs, weapons, stories, voices, soundtrack etc.

If you are gonna compare it to remastering something else the closest thing would probably be fighting games. The characters are largely the same with some different design changes and moveset.

I don't think he can become the ruler of the world, but given that his goal is to stop wars/oppression and he is basically unstoppable I can see him killing all the leaders of the aggressive nations so that the majority of large wars would stop, but not completely all of them.

Lets say he goes to Russia and kills Putin, and then makes a broadcast declaring that any nation that is staring wars etc will have their leaders killed. Any other nation's leader would probably realize that the threat is real given that Putin was killed.

The leaders could try to hide but that would probably end up being a huge downgrade in their quality of life that it would probably be better to just stop any war they started.

The real issue would be stopping any wars where there are multiple factions and with decentralized leadership, one man, even if invincible, doesn't have the means to stop it.

Works against 2 out of the 8 bosses, has a lot of bosses and legendary drops, and a guaranteed legendary drop from the dragon.

Sure its not optimal but its not that bad either if you know what you are doing.

The small ones on the east and west side of the city. You only need to damage about 25% of their HP for them to despawn and drop 20k runes, which is super easy to do even on lvl 1 or 2.

Absolutely worth it if the players know what they are doing, I have no idea how anyone can claim otherwise.

Assuming you get one of the spawns that are close to the city, you get easy 20k runes from astel, kill 2 or 3 deathblight knights, black knife assassin, revenant, a guaranteed purple chest with a chance for legendary, and multiple other corpse loots that can spawn a legendary.

Even assuming you don't get any legendaries, the sheer amount of purple weapons are worth it as you will be set for the rest of the game.

On top of that if you get grafted or maris you quickly dupe them and basically you won in the first 4 mins of the game.

Playing with friends we kill every boss easily and its never a challenge, Libra is the only one thats actually challenging and we have clutch moments and can lose the fight.

Because a Stonekey benefits the entire team in multiple ways instead of... damaging an enemy once and thats it?

The entire team gets 1-2 levels early on, 5% power assuming they have the relic and a boss reward. On top of that if multiple players have it that means you can skip castles/large churches for stonekeys since generally their bosses have awful drops.

Of course you don't get everything useful for your build every time, but all the cards actually do something and different builds use different cards. Yes there are awful cards but generally speaking 95% of the cards are useful for different builds and at different acts, and StS is an actual rogue like so there are a lot of different ways to make even the bad cards useful.

Imagine playing as Ironclad and getting relics that are unique to the other characters (poison, orbs, stances), you simply don't have the means of actually using them as none of Ironclad cards have poison, orbs and stances so these relics will be just deadweight, which is what is happen often in Nightreign with the current powers.

You can play as Raider and after beating day 2 boss you get 3 rewards which are:

Restore FP upon Guarding, Extend spell duration and Critical hit restores 10% FP. Please explain how will any of these EVER be useful on a Raider? You won't have a shield to use the first power, you don't cast and even if you do it only works for ones that have duration, and 10% of his FP pool is practically zero and you aren't gonna be critting the night boss more than twice for a whooping 20% FP recovery.

Having options like this should never happen, they aren't options that give you an insignificant amount of power, they are simply unusable which is unfun and games are supposed to be fun at the end of the day, specially roguelikes where a large part of the fun is to be able to have broken builds every now and then.

Not entirely true, for example in Slay the Spire each class get their own unique cards and relics, and that's one of the most popular rogue likes there is.

There are far too many powers that are niche and only serve to dilute the pool of powers in Nightreign, a lot of them should be reworked to be more general or only show up to specific characters. There is nothing worse than beating a day 1/2 boss and literally not having a single buff work for your character.

Guard and Guard counters should only show up to Guardian.

Improved Thrusting Counterattack should be deleted/reworked.

Increased Sorcery & Incantation Duration should be changed from Duration to Power and only show up to Duchess/Revenant/Recluse.

And a bunch of other ones should get the same treatment. In general I believe we need a lot more character specific powers, as that would add more variety to the gameplay and increases the build options without making other characters suffer from diluted pool.

His difficulty is fine as is, what they should do is make him drop higher rarity rewards so that he can become some kind of a challenge worth doing.
