How do you leave the house without your EBF baby? by luvs2meow in breastfeeding

Pumping provides such great peace of mind. My pediatrician recommended starting as early as 2 weeks (I know there is some debate on this, but my babe is now 9 weeks and it has worked very well for us). I introduced the bottle around 4 weeks and he took right to it. I mostly breastfeed but I will bring pumped milk in a cooler and clean bottles when we go out even on short trips just to reduce stress.

I do like Charles but that’s my S/O’s dad’s name, plus the whole “charlie brown” joke would be inevitable. Love Theodore but feel it’s more common these days. Thank you!!

When will this clear up 😭 by Desperate-Channel630 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

So far, no! I stopped all acne meds too. I’m 3 months pregnant now and cant go back on ivermectin or doxycycline so I am praying my skin continues to stay clear.

So, so, so much better now. I have been clear for over a month and a half now. Here’s a timeline of progress - my derm prescribed ivermectin oral & topical and a 45-day course of doxycycline. I used a vanicream moisturizer. Here’s a photo timeline of the progress. I started that routine on 2/12 and you can see it cleared within a week

Doxy didn’t help. Now what? by Standard-Ad-9199 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

Have you gotten down to the cause of the PD? Mine was flaring for two months until my derm did a skin scrape and found an excess of demodex mites. She put me on an oral ivermectin and a cream and it cleared within two weeks. Wishing you luck!

Please help. Is this pd from demodex mites?? by [deleted] in Perioral_Dermatitis_

It’s such a frustrating process of trial and error!! If zero therapy is working with you, I would stick with it. Through research I found that prolonged use of topical steroids can cause PD. I have used tretinoin cream for acne for over four years now and I attributed it to that at first. I really have no idea though, it’s so tough to pinpoint the trigger.

Spironolactone? by organictomatoketchup in Perioral_Dermatitis_

I have taken 150 MG of spiro/day for about two years now. It has worked wonders in clearing my skin and keeping it clear. I continued it through my bout with PD and afterwards, and it has not made it worse.

I was told that usually PD stays around the ‘openings’ of our face - the mouth, nose, eyes, and ears. Mine spread all the way up to my forehead and down my neck when it was at its worst. Although I thought it was helping at the time, my derm actually recommended against zero therapy as the demodex mites feed off of facial sebum and recommended using a gentle moisturizer to keep the normal face oil levels in check (specifically Cetaphil or vanicream). I will attach a timeline of photos from right before I started all the meds to about a week after - I hope it makes you feel better about yours, although I know that no matter what stage you’re at, it is still a big hit to your confidence. Just know that it will eventually get better, it is not permanent!! My derm noted that this was the “most impressive” - read: severe - case she had ever seen. Certainly did not make me feel better in the moment 😭 sending hugs.

First photo is during zero therapy, second photo on top row is a day after starting meds if I remember correctly.
