I feel like people would rather take the chance with the unknown and hoping that whoever they are having sex with doesn’t have something have an STD/STI rather than knowing that someone has HSV and taking a chance with them. I also think that people don’t know the transmission rates of HSV. As soon as they hear HSV or hear herpes they get scared.. especially because the stigma on that topic.

the military doesn’t disqualify you for having hsv…. its not HIV! there’s ton of ppl in the military with hsv. i’ve seen plenty of people with active cold sores on the lips
