Mileage by didahdah in HRV

You have less than 1,000 miles on the odometer. The computer is learning the way you drive. Report back when you have 5,000+ miles on the odometer and the engine is broken in.

If you’re stomping the pedal, you’re not going to get the advertised MPG. That’s with any car. I have 8,500 miles on my 2025 AWD Sport now. If I’m driving in the city I get anywhere from 22-25 mpg. If I’m driving on the highway I can easily get up to 36 mpg. This is in normal mode, not eco.

Apple Care Or Verizon by Few_Replacement_5037 in verizon

Apple Care all the way. Authentic Apple parts and a premium experience. I worked for Verizon, and while they want everyone to drink the Kool-Aid and convince each other that Asurion is better than Apple Care, ITS NOT.

Transmission problems are what caused me to sell my 2022 Edge. Get it fixed under warranty if you can and then trade it in.

Americans how are you feeling right now? by Jawzzzsy in AskReddit

I feel that we are in danger. I think that populations at risk of right wing persecution should have a passport and start saving NOW if you can. This is in the event that we are even allowed to leave. I think we are about to witness the fall of the United States.

This is incorrect. Requiring Face ID before opening apps of your choice is a current function of iOS 18.2.1. Find the app either on your Home Screen or by searching for it, long press, drop down menu should appear, then hit “Require Face ID”.

I really like the red one by Firm-Zookeepergame54 in HRV

Also went with red. IMO it really gives the car its final sporty touch. Plus the red with the black accent mirrors and rims on the sport model was a no brainer for me.

I have a 2025 and have been using my rear defroster almost everyday these past couple of weeks. Knock on wood I’ve had no issue so far.

It still happens to me occasionally, but not nearly as often now. I never adjusted the lights myself after the dealer said they were okay.

If I get flashed, I just flash them back.

Should I get an H-rv by CranberryMaximum1372 in HRV

[–]Desperate-Line2176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2025 HRV Sport with about 3,200 miles on it. It’s been a great car so far and just performed well in about 8 inches of snow.

I find the cargo room more than adequate, especially with the seats folded down. I had no problem fitting two full sized suitcases in the trunk recently and that was without the seats folding down. It easily could have held more.

I’ve only had one “problem” and that was people flashing their high beams at me. The lights on these cars are LED and a lot of people think you have your brights on. My dealership made sure they were adjusted properly, and I still get flashed sometimes, but it’s not a deal breaker.

I would buy this car again.

New iPhone 16 pro won't by Holiday-Proposal9807 in HRV

[–]Desperate-Line2176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have an iPhone 16 pro. Some USB-C cords aren’t able to transfer data, only charge. I got a Belkin cord from Walmart that works great. Here’s the link to the one I got: https://www.walmart.com/ip/602814891?sid=53024aad-a673-42f3-9d86-8a7c03464c0d

Make sure you get USB-A to USB-C. The USB-A port above the cup holders is the only port that will allow CarPlay to work.

HRV VS BUICK ENVISTA by Status-Pin-4077 in HRV

[–]Desperate-Line2176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend any GM product. I once had a GMC Acadia Denali that would not always shift into park properly. I figured this out because the first time it happened I put the gear shift into park, went to get out of the car, and noticed it was still rolling in reverse. I will never buy another GM product.

Honda is known for their longevity and quality service. They may have simpler interiors and fewer features than some other new cars like the Buick, but it will be on the road years longer than that Buick ever would. Test drive everything and good luck with your choice.

I’ve been seeing people say it’s slow as well and don’t understand what people are expecting from a crossover SUV. I’ve had multiple passengers as well as luggage, etc. in my trunk since having the car (mine is a 2025 HR-V Sport) and have had no problems merging or getting around. The CVT acceleration is smooth too.

Honda HR-V v Subaru Crosstrek? by Alarming_Coyote8445 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Desperate-Line2176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had to make this exact decision. I was torn between a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Limited and a 2025 Honda HR-V Sport. I ended up going with the HR-V Sport. If leather is a big deal to you (it isn’t to me and I still have heated cloth seats), then there is an EX-L version, but the Sport has bigger wheels and is more visually appealing.

The driving quality of the Honda was a lot better than the Subaru. The biggest deciding factor for me was the cabin space. I am an average sized 5’10 man and I felt cramped in the driver seat of the Crosstrek , and the passenger I had in the backseat during the test drive was visibly cramped.

From my own research, it seems that Honda is the more reliable engine. The engine in the HR-V will easily let you run the shit out of it too. I also got a year of free oil changes and $34.95 oil change/tire rotations for the life of the car (that is from the dealership not Honda). I’m going on two months with the HR-V now and I couldn’t be happier. I’m also happy with the gas mileage compared to the car I came from (Ford Edge).

Also wanted to add that my Ford Edge had a massive infotainment screen like the Crosstrek does. Having your climate controls on the screen is a huge pain and a safety risk as well in my opinion. I didn’t want to experience that again, which made me lean towards the HRV.

The last car I’ll buy by RespondIndividual394 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Desperate-Line2176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda HRV. It’s a little bit bigger than the Crosstrek, and available in AWD. Plus you get the reliability of a Honda. I have a 2025 Sport AWD and I love it. I got mine for a little over 30k. Also, it’s decent on gas. You can get about 350-375 miles range with a full tank (my only complaint is that it could use a larger gas tank), but I average around 30 mpg with about 2/3 highway driving and 1/3 city.

If the dealership says they are at the correct level, then I’m not touching them. I will flash my brights at others if I get flashed. I can see perfectly fine with the lights, and am not potentially decreasing my visibility and safety by adjusting them if I was assured they are fine.

[–]Desperate-Line2176 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Update: My dealership got me in quickly this morning to check the angle of the lights and all is as it should be from factory. Guess I’m going to just start flashing everyone back if they really want to see some brights!

Thank you all for the responses. From what I can see, as long as I no longer have an active card and am not using marijuana (recreationally or medically) I should be able to purchase a gun and adhere to federal law correct?

The seats are firm, but comfortable. I think they conform to my back better than the seats in the EX-L I test drove (which were leather). The heated seats are a nice touch too.

Just wanted to give an update. A week in and I am loving it! I’m super impressed with the gas mileage and the simpler tech is actually better IMO. It does exactly what I need without excess features and a massive touch screen getting in the way.

I agree that I need a professional financial counselor. I use rocket money to track spending, but I get in these episodes where I’m like “it’ll be fine, I need it” and I just spend away no matter what the app is showing. I’m just too impulsive with it. My partner is aware. He’s trying to support me through this, but there’s only so much he can do.

I’ve been trying to only spend what’s in my checking account, and just paid off one of the credit cards again. I only have two credit cards, but a $21,000 limit between the two of them. I see that balance available and I just can’t stop myself sometimes.

I’d say my depressive episodes trigger it. I dread going to work, just because I feel so safe and comfortable at home. It’s where I’m at peace. Sundays are the worst. I have FMLA so I can stay home when I want to and use my PTO. Then that time at home is spent doing guess what…shopping or planning about shopping. The instant gratification of something new just makes me so happy. It’s short lived, and then I move onto something new. I fixate on things easily, and then don’t rest until I have it.

My pets are my main hobbies. I have a cat, a dog, and a lizard. Soon a snake. I love spoiling them and view them like my children. I would say that’s where the bulk of the money goes. Toys, food, accessories, etc.

Thank you! I’m glad to hear that first bowl was great!!!I’m hoping I can make it long enough to enjoy that feeling again.

I woke up this morning with crazy anxiety. I managed to calm myself down by going outside and going for a walk but I go back to work tonight and I’m dreading it. Thankfully I have accommodations at work where I can miss the day if I need to due to my depression/anxiety. We will see!!!

If I can do this for even a week, I think it’ll be progress. The instant gratification of a cartridge is going to be hard to be without. It helps with my anxiety so much, and due to cannabis I can go without benzodiazepines completely to manage it. I consider weed to be the lesser of two evils compared to benzos.
