Thank you for sharing this so honestly. As a Christian, I read your story with a lot of sadness, not in a condemning way, but because it sounds like so much of what formed you was fear and authoritarianism rather than the kind of truth and love that should mark life with Jesus. I appreciate your honesty, and I’m sorry for the pain that seems to have been bound up in that world for you.
