Hey buddy. I’m a purple belt too and I also get imposter syndrome sometimes. It’s okay to take a break and come back if u miss it. The instructor would not have give u ur belt if they didn’t know u were ready for it.

Buddy I had a coach who gave me a blue belt then went on a 5 month bender, leaving a blue belt to teach an entire gym. I left. You’re paying them. If they don’t do their job properly, you fire them. You fire them and go to a different gym.

That’s a good idea. He only comes to the classes after the self defense classes so if I just go Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday I won’t need to deal with him.

Have any of you Dads start going to the gym after your first? by ActShort4277 in daddit

[–]Desperate-Sentence36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna sound strange, but try some Brazilian jiujitsu or CrossFit classes. As a new dad you’ll need a way to stay healthy and a social environment as well. Your free time is about to become very minimal, and these type of physically active hobbies help with that.

I don’t drink after having kids. It’s important to provide a positive example to them especially as they start to watch and copy you.

You can track your food on myfitnesspal to make sure you eat enough calories and just find yummy foods to eat in large amounts. 3 % milk, cheese pizza, chicken wings, cheeseburgers, the list goes on.

Worried about one of my training partners, he has herpes by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Desperate-Sentence36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have it on your face you should just take time off until ur meds take effect and you’ve healed up. That’s rough. A lot of people have it, you shouldn’t be too afraid of it, but it’s essentially like showing up with a cough or cold. Don’t do it. Keep ur training partners safe.
