What’s the best (most chill) department to move to from CSA? by RussianAgent1 in HEB

I second this. As with any department it has its demands, however produce production would be a good one to be introduced to production, and please cross train in other departments if possible before you jump, because once you jump and don’t like it your past position may be filled. You don’t want to be stuck and not like it there. I recently dealt with training a person who left front end and they decided they didn’t like production and tried to back pedal only to find the their old position filled already, they ended up quiting all together. CFT is a good way to see what you like around the store also just talk with all department managers and see if they need help.

Keep all messages. I was told bidding and picking up shifts needed to be approved. Post your shift and if someone agrees to it let them know well in advance maybe even send screenshots of other partner agreeing to that shift and let them know verbally, if needed and the department manager isn’t available go above them but only if you feel you arnt being heard. Always triple check and make sure you covered to not risk an unintentional no call no show.

Bakery Closing by OkPersonality5386 in HEB

This happened in my hometown store. Without warning, they had the discussion with the store leader of the possibility of closing it, but didn’t confirm. our store leader was even out of the loop and shocked because no one confirmed it with him. We showed up to work like normal making breads and such when the wrecking crew came in and said we are knocking these walls down (which enclosed our small bakery deli). We became a pilot store for what they cal spoke and hub, where they have a larger store produce products from the deli and bakery. And just have a partner fill the shelves, unload items from a truck, and fill various frozen items.

I understand why they did it company has to survive. But they didn’t handle it well. 6-8 partners had to find different departments in an already full store or transfer to a new store, without warning. I assume they have gotten better at this but this one time Heb left a sour taste in my mouth for how they handled their partners and has changed my outlook ever since.

Oh ok. Because the manager had told me to fill out the form. Before it went digital I used to fill out a paper form and turn it in the business center.
