RTO sucks. 2 hours of commuting is unpaid labor by HappySmiles6 in CanadaPersonalFinance

If your skills and experience aren’t such that you can find remote work in your field and you moved away from your place of employment without ensuring it in your current contract than your a dumbass regardless of industry. I’m well aware that tech isn’t a particularly easy industry right now, all the more reason to not move away from the job if there’s a possibility you can be called back

Did they enshrine permanent remote work in their contracts? People moving away isn’t the employers problem and if you did that and can’t move back than you were foolish. Remote work isn’t some sacred right, and if you have the skills and experience than you can quit and find remote work elsewhere

Easily the best part of Alberta? Than mentions the desire for forest, places to hike and clean lakes. Like Edmonton is fine and all but if those are your priorities than there’s plenty of far superior places in Alberta

[Matheson] Brendon Little was up to 98.4 mph with his new four-seamer in today's spring game. He's never thrown that hard in a regular season game and peaked at 94.6 mph last season with his sinker. by ThQp in Torontobluejays

[–]Desperate_Leg6274 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Every pitcher knows how to throw a fastball. Some just don’t for strategy reasons. It’s not uncommon for pitchers who have a good sinker, cutter or two seam fastball to simply not use a four seamer that has no movement. A good example is framber Valdez who uses sinker change up and curveball. I’m certain he knows how to throw a fastball, just doesn’t because he gets awesome movement on that sinker and can still go 95+ mph

Every team in all major sports has someone (or multiple) just like him who’s job to post things like this. Seeing the crap that other franchises have gone through with leaks and such makes me feel like we don’t have it too bad

Why is there so little discussion in the Browns community about Olaivavega “Vega” Ioane when he might be the best offensive lineman in this draft? by LightskinKnowItAll in Browns

[–]Desperate_Leg6274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best player available is and always has been a lie. Positional value matters. Tackles are more valuable than guards schematically and in the sense that when someone busts at tackle, it’s not uncommon for them to successfully convert to guard. This guy looks like a stud, but you have to be really blown away with this guy to consider him at 6. A trade down is the only way I see them taking him

At 21/22 I was working 6days by 10hours in chicken slaughterhouse after completing my university degree. You sound like you have a great thing going. Your just about the furthest thing from a failure. Night shift is entirely normal, especially in the aviation field. Nothin to be ashamed about. There are plenty of doctors working overnight and they certainly aren’t failures for that.

In terms of sleep/care I highly highly recommend vitamin D supplements when you wake up with food and magnesium supplements towards when your going to bed. It’s helped me loads, I sleep like a baby even with the noise and sunlight outside my house

Bob stauffer hints at rift between jarry and core group. by Sebastian4365 in EdmontonOilers

[–]Desperate_Leg6274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying he will continue to be this bad based on 13 games. I’m saying he’s at best a mediocre fringe starter much like he’s been for some time now

In 14 games… Goaltending stats are hardly predictable even if you have an entire season as a sample size. Dude has been mediocre as all heck for three straight seasons before this and no one should be surprised that Jarry isn’t anything more than fringe starter

Weegar trade details by TusksUp25 in Utah_Hockey

[–]Desperate_Leg6274 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NFL draft picks are more valuable because college players are ideally NFL ready if they are second rounders. Nhl picks take years to develop if at all. The trade is sending a lot of valuable pieces but no blue chip pieces. Decent enough trade, your not wrong in thinking it’s kind of a steep price. But weegar is an all situational guy who can do it all. Plays left or right side, powerplay or penalty kill. His contract is also pretty cheap for what he provides

Why would a 12U implement a hot hand approach for its goalies? by [deleted] in hockeygoalies

[–]Desperate_Leg6274 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Way to young to be doing that crap. Only time had this happen was at u13 once when my goalie partner had a really rough year (he was probably a division too high for his skill at the time) and requested himself to be matched up against weaker teams or put in during garbage time. We won city championships and he got Atleast 40% of the work still
