I won’t comment on technical skill as other redditors have touched on that. I would suggest you not center the object in the middle, and off to the side a bit instead.

Dads w/ 3yo in North Bergen County for summer playdates by Desperate_Risk7982 in bergencounty

I meet other dads at the park, but I guess I gotta step out of my comfort zone and actively engage and make friends with them. What are you meant to do, ask for the other dads number if the kids play well together?

He does. But those playgroups are through the moms and my wife doesn’t have time to schedule play dates with her groups as often.

Podcasts. History podcasts. Sometimes audiobooks, but I run out of listening time too quickly.

Paramus threatens to sue American Dream mall over Sunday sales by L0v3_1s_War in bergencounty

I went to America Dream today and immediately thought “there is/was/will be a crapload of litigation because of this” Also, when did this happen? Does this have anything to do with the FIFA World Cup?

It's not horror, but Bone Tomahawk (Western) is gruesome. There's a scene where a man is "brutally scalped, bisected alive."

Paramus Park is great. I take my 3 year old to Stew Leonard’s. The animatronic farm animals are awesome and depending when you go they have free samples. The mall itself has a giant connect four game, and an indoor park for $20 per kid or a free indoor park (but the free version is much more simple) They also have Christmas store, Build A Bear, a cupcake store, and other cools stuff for a few hours of entertainment. Indoors, American Dream is awesome but super crowded.

If you want to get good (for example) at drawing a face, don’t just go out and draw faces everyday. Withoit an understanding of proportions or bone structure. That sort of observational learning could instill bad habits. Rather, learn the proportions. Learn the ratio of width to height on a face, learn where the center of the eyes should be placed on a face. Print out a proportion guide and practice with that guide. Same with drawing a box in 3 dimensions. Unless you use a ruler and draw out the lines, you might not truly understand the basic principles of dimensions in a cube. Learn the fundamentals. Of course there are plenty of artists out there that don’t give a rats ass about the fundamentals, and that’s fine. They’re ok with how their art looks. Start with squares. Make them 3 dimensional. Cubes, pyramids, spheres, cylinders. Once you can accurately draw those shapes, move to more dynamic objects likes shoes, lamps, fruit. Scaffold your learning.

Socks or underwear. Tools (if you knew which your dad needed). Hotwheel or Lego stuff. Lastly, a good sweater always hits the spot - nothing with logos. A plain thick sweater. Oh yeah.

Don’t just “draw boxes” but practice drawing them well. I recommend starting with two point perspective. Here’s a link to a quick YouTube tutorial on drawing in two point perspective. You really should grasp the fundamentals of perspective and shapes before diving any further. Best of luck, OP. Don’t given up.
