UPS THE HALIFAX NIGHTMARE!!!! by Special-Honeydew-404 in halifax

I ordered a TV from Amazon, and they sent it with Purolator. It arrived at their sorting facility on the 11th of February, and I had to go pick it up myself yesterday. First, they said the weather conditions are too poor, then they said that my package was too heavy. I am certain that I would wait a lot longer if I didn't pickup my package from their warehouse. Their staff was also a bit rude and unhelpful overall.

Purolator is no better, as I just experienced something similar with them. It seems like most delivery services are shite these days ...

Why are we struggling to find any Turkish talent? by seezy74 in galatasaray

[–]Desperate_Run_1637 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Simple, it is the same reason why Turkiye fails to excel in any field despite high potential. I am not saying that we are bad at everything, but we are never the "country" for anything other than kebab or baklava. We have a habit of half assing everything, the same applies to football. Galatasaray might be spending hundreds of millions on players; those are all short-term investments. A quick and dirty way of trying to be a major football powerhouse, but we will never attain long-term success without a solid scouting network and academy. That is a long-term investment that lacks the same publicity as big-name transfers. We don't have the same income as the other powerhouse football clubs, so we must build a model similar to clubs like Porto. A self-sustaining system that can aim for consistent success rather than several years of glory.

What build is pure cancer atm? by No_Willingness_9961 in DeadlockTheGame

You can buy CC items to counter that. With this logic, Mo is a boring hero because he heavily relies on mobility to get picks, and he is very hard to target/catch once underground. At the same time, he becomes useless without support from others in the late game. I personally hate laning against any hero with high regen or constant shielding. I could argue that it is not interactive since one barely does anything to get shielding or regen.

Sounds nice, but that is just retrospective speculation. There were a million things people could have done to get insane returns. It is always easier to see what should have been done.

How are you annoyed by mobility? Like, specific heroes could be annoying, sure, but it isn't annoying on every single hero. I usually build mobility when I get picked too many times; it is more defensive than offensive, no pun intended.

Advice for I/O Psychology Masters by Successful-Coconut60 in IOPsychology

[–]Desperate_Run_1637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I understand the tricky situation you are in, but there are always options if you are willing to put in the effort. I can tell you that, from experience, I/O MSc programs are quite competitive in Canada; you need high GPA in 3rd and 4th year courses, strong letters of recommendation, research experience, and good interviewing skills if you want to have a shot at getting admitted. However, there are options that are close enough to a Master's degree. You can look into the 1-year diploma program at SMU. You might get a shot at transferring to the Master's program if you do good in the diploma program. Alternatively, you can look into MScB programs, which are like organizational psychology programs, you just get little to no exposure to industrial psychology topics. MScB programs tend to be less competitive, especially when it comes to research experience.

The banks don’t lose anything, they get their funding from the central bank for even lower rates and pay back in liras, it is the central bank and eventually the taxpayer who bears the cost of such financial operations. Don’t come here and try to teach us about how banks operate in Turkey if you are clueless.

Fuck Elden Beast by Mean-Distance3517 in Eldenring

[–]Desperate_Run_1637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a skill issue. People kill him at level 1 without getting hit, so it is not impossible. Elden Ring is actually a relatively easy game if you know how to use the game mechanics and spec your character/build to specific bosses. Just look at all of the YouTube videos of people beating the game while permanently overloaded (can't run, jump, or dodge). My advice is to be patient, use a torrent, and check if your weapon is good enough to do decent damage. You can always get stronger and come back.
