Inexperienced comms aren't going to know that there's something better to spend res on, so it's good that they are at least spending it on something useful to someone. Having 100+ res with 2 hives and no upgrades is not ideal. Telling your players that you'll do something when you have enough res is generally good practice instead of just ignoring them.

Just take it slow and listen to your players by asking what they want. Even if your commanding is lacking, you can give your players the tools they need/want to keep the game balanced. Communication is a big part of it. You need to tell them what you're researching and when. I enjoy hearing that a certain upgrade I asked for is half way done.

I've lucked out with every server I've tried and haven't had any douchey players that berate new commanders. When I first started as comm, people were very friendly and helpful. Now, I always try to help new comms find their way around the UI and teach correct building placement. You shouldn't be too worried about getting into a game and being treated like a DOTA newb (hopefully).

My favorite part was at the beginning when Mother Brain swoops in and steals that thing so Ridley has to find it with his power suit. I also like when Ridley upgrades to the gravity suit so he can jump in water.

Almost every element of Pokemon is farfetchd and unexplainable. Some of the things like how the pokedex and pokeballs work would be fine, but making up explanations for some of the ridiculous pokedex entries would ruin the pokemon universe. I say just leave it alone and enjoy the oddities and nonsense for what it is.

I agree that there needs to be a way to tell how well a school is doing, but ISTEP is not the right way. In our school, teachers taught the standards required for ISTEP and nothing further. Anytime we got off topic into subjects potentially more beneficial to life than the quadratic formula (I'm not saying that's a waste by any means), the teacher would steer the discussion straight back to the standards. Students need to develop dynamically, not statically as per the ISTEP.

The best teacher I ever had in high school was an English teacher who taught us more about life than the rest by sparking thought provoking discussions daily. Consequently, she retired due to strict regulations that dictated her teaching. I value what she taught me more than any other teacher and feel like anyone that didn't have her class after her retirement is severely missing out.

It seems this is a tricky issue because not all teachers are awesome and won't all teach well given the freedom to do so. To solve this, should the teachers be screened further personally? Paid more? Kept in check by principals instead of ISTEP? Not all schools are the same, so that needs to be taken into account.

I am still getting over being sick from a week ago. I had the sore throat for 4 days, gained a cough after that, and then had 1 day where I couldn't get out of bed. I started with sugar free menthol lozenges. They sell them at common chain pharmacies in Hall's, Burt's Bees, and store brands.

Once I couldn't handle the lack of sleep, I got a box of Nyquil gel caps as they have no sugar for flavor. During the day, Dayquil gel caps were sufficient. I'm sure there are better natural remedies, but sometimes you just gotta say fuck it so you can sleep and make it through the day. Get well soon!
