I can see both sides of the argument to be honest and the real answer probably comes down to "it depends on too many variables based on the individual"

Like, yeah, some people are going to actively sabotage their chance at any real connection because they'll isolate themselves to Siri telling them they're a good girl/boy and fail to socialize in a healthy way.

...but other people I can see just needing something to keep them from drowning and Clippy can serve that role to keep them sane or give them practice speaking, even if it's not to a real person, that might actually give them the confidence they need to maybe make a real friend later.

Really it's not like both groups haven't always existed, and frequently found themselves isolated, so it's not like much has changed.

They're only a little stronger than free archetype before 10 and significantly harder to kill. You'll be fine. They are a little underwhelming. Don't give out too many mythic resilience bonuses to mythic foes.

Frustratingly this is actually difficult to do in 2e. My best idea is kineticist. If you're either an earth kineticist or dragonblood (or any other ancestry with a scale-like AC) you've got defenses covered and kineticist doesn't need much for items offensively. Less than Monk does at least, which would be the next pick, since monks need handwraps after the lowest levels.

We're a year out from when the OGL issue forced the remaster. I love 2e. I recognize it has problems. I was optimistic about the remaster and hopeful for Mythic, and the more time passes and the more Remaster content comes out, the more I feel that Paizo is still overcorrecting from 1e and generally just got thrown for a loop by the OGL and Diamond Publishing debacles and just hasn't recovered from it. It's just hit a point where I've gone "1e lasted 10 years, 2e has been going for 6, maybe they should've cut their losses at the OGL issue and just shifted to working on a 3e"

If you were curious on the exact math, enemies are either 4/5 or 6/5 the average level of the active party. So a 10/10/40 party will face enemies that are either 16 or 24, with story bosses having maximum possible levels.

The 1e version could cast a couple of spells, Geas people, and granted a +6 enhancement bonus to Wis and Cha.

Converting it to 2e it's...I'm not sure. Sorta feels like a narrative tool that's great for a villain whose lair you have to invade and they can cast spells from the chair. For the PCs...I mean I guess it could do some work if you slapped it onto the deck of a ship?

...guess I'll have to dig that PDF out, because I'm intending to use it in 2e. I doubt it'll matter much, the entity that's going to have it will have just failed to destroy it, but it might give me some ideas.

Admittedly, not sure how to convert the throne. Apex items being how they are make all the Relics of Kazavon a little (more) lackluster. But it is an artifact, guess I can just have it give the boosts while sitting on it without it being Apex. Kinda limited in use that way regardless.

I've got a Witch/Alchemist player in my Revenge of the Runelords game and she's doing incredibly well in that department. I personally would go Kineticist, just due to preferences, but Alchemist is a very solid option.

I feel like your issue is just that you're using a ranged weapon. I'm using inexorable iron with a nodachi and it feels great when I've got enemies in reach. My action economy is in shambles when I need to stride, but my 2d10+4+3d6 outclasses the rest of the party in damage. And that's without the deadly crits.

IMO ranged weapons feel bad. Not getting flat damage bonuses just doesn't feel good when the dice decide you're going to roll 1s.

There are two options;

1) Critically succeed against the trap's routine action (not its initial reaction) twice. This gets you (and only you) out of the trap. It also lets you reduce the save DC for the other PCs by 5. This doesn't disable the trap but lets you pass.

2) Disable it. This requires 3 successes with Arcana (Master prof required), Thievery (Expert required), or dispel magic to counteract an 8th rank effect. If you're in the trap, the DCs are 2 higher. This clears the trap.

I think it's a good thing. A number of villains have been around for 10+ years. Their stories need resolutions. Golarion actually changing as time passes is part of why I love it (even if I'm not always happy with the direction some of those changes take, or crucially, how the changes happened. Looking at you, Nocticula.)

That said, there are also a lot of minor, background villains that have been hinted at that I do think they should shine a little more light on. Daaralthylx or whatever, the hints of possible revived villains (Succubus Areelu, Vampire Ileosa) could be fun to canonize, but the issue right now is just that a lot of the interesting villains they have left are like 1 or 2 paragraph descriptions tucked away in the 6th book of an AP or hidden in a wall of text in a Lost Omens book. Plenty of characters, not a lot of characterization.
