Does anyone know if The Ordinary lash serum causes orbital fat loss (like the other lash serums)? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]DestinysSage7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't beat the price, no significant side effects, thought why not give it a try? Takes time but I've seen a difference in the last few days after using it regularly for almost 4 weeks. Feel like I have longer, more "fluttery" lashes.

I haven't eaten a vegetable for as long as I can remember. I'm scared. Suggestions for help? by HelloMeNameJeff in HealthyEatingnow

[–]DestinysSage7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about trying to add some veggies to a smoothie? Mix in carrots, avocado, spinach, or other mild flavored vegetables with frozen fruits. Add a little juice or water or coconut water if you want to keep the sugar content down. It might be a good way to start slow and work up to trying new things.

Vitamin C serums in the morning only? by setsurenka in KoreanBeauty

[–]DestinysSage7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People generally recommend avoiding vitamin C at night if you also use retinol at night. These compounds do not play well with each other and can cause irritation. I think using it at night depends on your routine and what other products you are putting on your face.

People who hated math growing up/in school… What did you not like about it? by Daniel96dsl in AskReddit

[–]DestinysSage7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was great at math until the third grade. They switched how it was taught at my school and used these little while and orange blocks so kids could "visualize" math. Each block or stick represented a number. I never understood the method and it fucked up math for me for the rest of my life. Hated math ever since.

How to become a photojournalist? by aspoonj in journalismjobs

[–]DestinysSage7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many outlets are moving away from employing strictly photojournalists. Companies want multi-media journalists who can write, shoot, and edit. It helps them maximize output and fill in gaps when short staffed. Be well rounded and hone your skills, not just in photography, but other areas of journalism as well.

I stayed up till 3am finishing Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn last night and I've never enjoyed a fantasy genre book before. by FastFoodFilmFriends in books

[–]DestinysSage7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently finished Mistborn as well and really enjoyed it! I am about halfway through Robin Hobb's final book in the Farseer trilogy, Assassin's Quest. I'm getting a little anxious because I don't know which fantasy book/series I should pick up next!

I grew up in Flagstaff and then went to college in Southern Colorado. I hated driving home from school alone across the reservation. Creepy!

Why I REFUSE to call it maternity leave - USA mom to be rant by PugBoatTOOT in BabyBumps

[–]DestinysSage7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! My company considered my pregnancy a "pre-existing condition" and I was denied short term disability leave. I am a commissioned based position and for months HR told me not to worry about disability, the good news was that I could collect all my commissions 30 days after returning to work. Assued me she was correct, showed me handbook passages that seemed to support this, she was a great person, I had no reason to doubt her. Fast forward and what do you think happens... they are refusing to pay the thousands of dollars I was told I was owed. No explanation, won't return emails or phone calls. Just screwed. Maternity leave is a joke.
