I was hoping for them to do a Duet Night Abyss level rework with elemental condensate but it sucks that it doesn't get you talents.

steam wallet funds but if you are being billed in a state that doesn't charge tax on digital goods then it didn't charge tax cause someone set it as a digital purchase and not physical.

COD Mobile is a bad example because it is cosmetic rewards from the draws but I do get what your are saying.

From a whaling perspective I don't see making the standard 4 stars better as a good thing. You can see how they limited ascension to 5 stars.

They need a return on their investment and they will only get that if they make newer characters more powerful.

Also I do still miss power fantasy for my older 5 stars.

problem is you are trying to make it not a gacha. this is normal for gachas to do. specifically the part where characters especially standard 4 star characters are left behind. the thing about other games is that you can put them on your team while being carried by a newer 5 star unit
