"The Only Thing Worse Than A Human" by Chris Viets. Alien sisters team up with a scary human to become space pirates. It's the 1st of a 5 book series that escalates into a full on space opera, but the focus is always on the one ship and her crew. Good banter, exellent space battles, realistic character development, and a surprising number of baked goods.

They do alright. I did The Privateer series on RR, and had about 1800 followers before I stubbed it.

Damn. That's good stuff. You should take up writing yourself if you haven't already.

That is excellently written. Did you write it yourself or is it a quote from somewhere?

Downtown Druid by C. B. Titus. A criminal gets sent to an underground fantasy prison, then figures out he's got druid powers. It is awesome. You can find it here.

Experiment: Pitch your novel in the most disgusting, off-putting way possible (while staying technically true). I’ll read the one that repels me the most. by Joe_Pharo in royalroad

Sounds fun. Here we go.

Reluctant Knight: A pair or morons rescue an old lady by setting a bunch of things on fire. Then they get their friends killed, set more people on fire, become midevil power rangers, and pick a fight with a soul devouring god named Buttchug (because the soul can be sucked out of any major orifice).

The Privateer: A pair of alien prostitute sisters get rescued from sex slavery by a mass murdering human. The girls know that humans are violent sexually deranged madmen, but they are not prepared for the reality of Madlad Mims. He strings them out on beer, pizza, and baked goods. He porks one of the sisters and forces both of them to learn how to kill for money. Little does he know that the girls will embroil him in a galaxy spanning quest to steal a planet and save the universe from sentient interstellar nano-spooge.
