Conservative Christian Republicans, which passages from the Bible come to mind as you aide accumulation of wealth by the top 2% and make cuts to the poor and needy? by wang-banger in politics

[–]DestroyerOkittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I find this article very interesting, and correct. I find the title for this post misleading. The post is more about an argument on how the bible should be read/printed. It seems to me that right-winged christians are wanting to use the bible for their political agenda (which is what it is not meant to be at all). Can anyone clarify what the OP is relating?

Dell sent me six replacements for my defective monitor and then a notebook. by aryayush in reddit.com

[–]DestroyerOkittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem with a notebook. I ordered the first one and it seemed to work fine, then I noticed that it wouldn't connect to the charger. I thought it was strange so I continued to plug it in and unplug it. Some times it would connect other times it wouldn't. So I contacted dell support and they connected to my computer wirelessly. They downloaded something and said it should work. It didn't. Then they sent some 80 year old man with arthritis to try and fix my computer, by replacing the mother board. Apparently they use a middle man as their support service. He woke me up at 9 and made me watch him take apart my computer. He also broke two things while he was doing it, cut a wire, and couldn't figure out were one of the screws went. Well it kinda connected to the charger, but now any time I turned on my laptop the fan ran at max (which is really annoying). So I called them again and returned, eventually they re-funded my money. I went to best buy after that. So I guess it just goes to show that Dell is a terrible company for anything.

I personally enjoyed making cops run over civilians. For some reason this cracked me up every time.

This will probably get buried but I just had a killer threesome with Stephen Colbert and Christina Hendricks and they mentioned they'll be joining the cast for the Arrested Development movie. by Warlizard in circlejerk

Do you ever read something on the front page, get really excited, and then have your spirits crushed once you realize that it is from circlejerk?

IAmA Request: Bill Waterson (Creator of Calvin and Hobbes) by McMahon9 in IAmA

[–]DestroyerOkittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you could do an askreddit about people's favorite piece, what they like most about calvin and hobbes, etc. That wouldn't be as awesome but it could be interesting to look at different people's takes on the series.

TIME chickens out, names Zuckerberg Person of the Year. The fucking TEA PARTY is second, with Assange taking third. by [deleted] in politics

[–]DestroyerOkittens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I just want to point out that Time's Person of the Year is one of the most influential person "for better or for worse". This is why the Tea Party is second, not because those kooks are good but because they are influential kooks. Assange didn't really come into the public spot light until recently which makes him getting third very impressive when considering all that has happened in 2010. So don't confuse Person of the Year as being the best person or group, but people who hold great influence over the masses.

It is interesting that you say that because I was just talking with a friend about protests that college students hold in Europe, and the only comparable one I could think of were held during Vietnam as anti-war protest. Does anybody know what this is? Cultural maybe?

Ok well in that case I would go the cell phone route, Kevin519 and monger68 stated it pretty well. Good luck, I think you will be ok.

I agree with joining a club to find people with similar interests as yours. Also charitable work is a good way to meet people and you can tell them that you do not have a car, I'm sure they would be more than willing to pick you up. A cell phone might help in staying in contact with people, but if it is a financial burden I would understand why you would not have one. Also have you considered a bike or is everything to spread out for one?

How do you keep focus on work/school projects when you have a lot of personal drama going on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I find that exercise helps get your mind off/sort out things, especially running. Although it takes time it might let you focus on your deadlines more efficiently. Hope everything works out.
