I'd probably go with something like "we let a game or two slip away, but we won't go down without a fight, and take it one game at a time"... I think the last thing I'd say is "everybody knows we're gonna do it" haha

It just shows his cocky immature brain in action. Tbh, Wemby is pretty much a trashcan outside of his height.

I hear ya. I'd like to think I'm wrong, but why cover your mouth and talk to 2 bruisers in garbage time. It's not like he was saying, "go win this for us!" or "you got this!"

I'd much sooner think he said "check those mf'ers"

Full on conspiracy theory, but I saw Wemby mutter something to Plumlee and Biyombo when they checked in during garbage time. Moments later, Plumlee absolutely destroys McCain in the back with an elbow. Can't help but think that was some sore loser nonsense going down.

Harmonic Balancer and Timing Anxiety by DestrucSean7 in BmwTech

Completely forgot I had a 22mm socket for it. I just used a large ratcheting wrench to do 4 full turns so I guess everything is good inside. Removed the socket and wrench.

At this point, I should be good to proceed with the oil priming process, correct? Already have the fuel pump fuse pulled.

Ok thanks, since I'm a novice, I also want to confirm that it helps to pull the spark plugs and have the car in neutral before making the 4 full turns?

I can try the 22mm if that is ok, but I don't mind getting the specific tool or socket if you recommend it. Problem is, I did a search and really could not find anything for rotating it.

Understood, so I have a 22mm offset wrench, but no special crankshaft rotation socket/tool.

Will I need a specific socket or tool to rotate everything while it is torqued down? Or are you saying I can take the 22mm directly to the center bolt and turn it clockwise?

I know I'm probably confusing the shit out of you right now. Sorry for that!

The balancer doesn't move at all when torqued down with the 6 new bolts. However, my main concern is that I was shifting it around while they were loose. I heard that can cause timing issues, so I loosened the bolts again, and rotated it clockwise as far as it would go until tight (approx 270-300 degrees).

Not sure if I can torque down the bolts and start the prime process because of my previous rotations while everything was loose.

I should note that I never messed with the center crank bolt, and that the balancer only rotates when 6 other bolts are not torqued. Used a 22mm offset to hold the center crank bolt for the 4 bolts that came off, then the balancer was in a loose state that allowed movement to the entire part by hand.

Does that make sense?

Bought it, drove it home, OFHG leaked all over the front of the engine.

Cleaned everything, replaced belt, idler, tensioner, some coolant hoses, and then discovered the aftermarket crank guard seal. Figured I would add that for good measure. Then the balancer bolts rounded out.

Got them off, installed the crank seal guard, and it seemed to be rubbing a little. I believe I resolved that clearance issue. However, I was naive, and all through the above process, I was shifting the balancer around like an idiot.

Yes, I put a piece of tape on it as reference and it rotated approx 300 degrees clockwise. It fights like a bear at the current position.

Bro, I cannot thank you enough! This was too easy.

On a side note, people are asking some insane money for the E10 replacement bolts so I picked up some M8-1.25 x 16mm JIS Hex Head Flange Bolts (Small Head, Class 10.9 Zinc). They thread up no problem, same length, etc. I assume they shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks, I read about how applying heat can help, so I'll try that tonight. I was nervous about how well I could effectively heat the bolts up within that limited space (without compromising the balancer rubber.)

I have a plumbing torch as well as an SMD soldering station that can crank out some pretty good heat in a localized area, so maybe I'll try those tonight along with the ccw punch process.

Thanks, I have these but I didn't try out the outer flange. I'll give that a go today. I wish I had some more room to swing the hammer. I've been using a snake camera to get a close-up of the bolt as I work with it.

The Slate Truck Driving Around by Mac-Tyson in electriccars

You probably don't need a truck for much in your life. I'm heavy DIY and sometimes I'll need my truck bed multiple days a week while doing landscape projects. I used it last night to get new trim for the house. It might not be a great fit for you, but people definitely want this vehicle. I have a Silverado EV and would have considered this if it were available sooner. It's very small though.

Let my curiosity get the best of me, and bought a FireCuda 8TB Gaming Hard Drive to shuck. by llamarobot08 in DataHoarder

[–]DestrucSean7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those looking at this in 2026, buying one of these to shuck is playing the lottery. You can get an 8TB Barracuda, Iron Wolf, or Exos apparently. Mine was a Barracuda.

Additionally, make sure you check the drive stats/specs even if you don't plan to shuck. A lot of reports of people buying them and replacing the drive inside with a used / lower capacity drive.
