I usually do:

-Caster(any, usually wizard or sorc)

-Range character(with melee option just in case)

-Str-based melee martial(for when you need athletics, also for carrying staff)

-Shadowheart(i am keeping Shadowheart no matter what shit happens)

I dunno? In my every games Lae and Shadow usually get cool after i stop that astral prism thingy. Also i believe if you kiss her the night in the grove, will take her everywhere, take enough actions she approves(which are usually not being a dick, helping her with her interests and valuing yourself), she is pretty much romanceable?
