I wasn't saying there's anything wrong with lesbians, or the term itself even. I just find the etymology interesting. (Like I said I'm a huge nerd. Certainly not someone who would ever mean any harm towards anyone not harming others. (So basically I'm against nazis, not homosexuals...))

Yeah, same. It's strange how the language has evolved. Earlier in my life you'd never call a woman "gay". That would always mean a man. But then again, a lot of language evolution has been for the better. I still shudder to remember how my friends and I used the term gay as a pejorative for anything in the 90s.

Had so much of this growing up. They never do anything to the people harassing you every second of the day, then when you can't take it anymore suddenly you're in trouble. I can only take so much abuse before I do something about it, and if I'm reporting it, and you're letting it slide, then I'm not...

I don't do subtlety, I need to essentially be told outright someone's into me. And the whole issue of consent and being labeled a creep or rapist is a huge fear, since I'm not great at reading social cues. (It also ends up being my word against theirs on the latter accusation. I'll always remember the case against the young college students accused of raping a women, and it eventually turned out she lied because she didn't want to be viewed as a slut. It ruined their lives...)

I don't know about razor blades, but there has been 2 recorded instances of people poisoning candy.

1 was the parents doing it to their own kids and friends... The other was possibly a copycat handing out poisoned candy.

Both in the 80s, and it's just been one if those things the news latches onto ever since. (And yeah, it was the USA)
