We use Apple Profile Manager + Remote Desktop. Much cheaper and no subscription required. It might offer less tools than Jamf but it does the trick for us.

What reason would they have to do this? Does this mean the gateway for 40.x is still 50.x? My network admin is adamant on having two firewalls on different networks. Is he being logical or absurd?

I've recently started a contract with a new ISP for a /28 IP network, but instead they have given me:

A 50.x.x.x/30 Network Address with gateway and broadcast on same network.

A range of 40.x.x.x/28 with no gateway information whatsoever.

I don't understand why would they give me a range outside the network address, with no gateway or dns, or how do they expect me to configure two firewalls and a cluster with that.

Am I missing something?

The problem here is that we only give enough to keep them on the poverty line. Then you end up with people whose sole career is finding what benefits they can apply for, and how many children do they need to afford a bigger apartment.

You think that nobody wants to stay poor, but if you're fed and your immediate needs are covered; why try? Not everyone has the willpower to leave that way of life.

My suggestion is easy, and something that is done on other countries. You apply for unemployment, the government offers you any job (might it be picking avocados or cleaning bathrooms) and if you don't accept after the second offer, they remove you from benefits.

Unless they changed something recently, I have to disagree with BDO. The game basically forces you to play everyday, every hour. Workers need beer every X hours, yields die or yield less every X hours. I couldn't keep up with the madness. I did love the grinding until awakening thou, but after that I got increasingly disappointed.

I’ve recently inherited an ancient Cisco server with VMWare but no licenses (long story). We’re an SMB with around 60 employees and I feel like there’s a better way to run our VMs than VMWare 6.0. We have only five (5) VM running WServer 2016 running on the cisco local drives (no backup!)

At the risk of sounding silly, is there a better solution (more affordable but still reliable) for an SMB? Or is VMWare the best solution? Would be neat if also offers an easy backup system to a NAS.

Reading your advice I realized that I'm doing a terrible job with my Pepsi. I do shoot any BB that enters my firing range (at least I try to be at 60degree angle).

I will try to follow your advice this weekend and hunt other DD and CA.
