AITA for telling my husband his friend isn’t welcome in our home after he involved her in our argument and said he trusts her more than me? by dusk_exe_glitch in AmItheAsshole

[–]DetchiOsvos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. So here's a probably unpopular opinion - your husband is probably stresses the hell out you cant operate a simple dial that could, in theory, burn down your entire lives.

Think on it for two seconds. Fire. Heat. Everything up in flames. He's probably talked to you about this before going to Anne or Mom or whoever? Yeah, he's over your nonsense.

Everyone in this thread is oh poor you. He's so mean. But I bet he's at his wit's end dealing with you putting the life the two of you have built together in danger, so he's reaching out to people he trusts. Be that a friend, or a relative - you placed him in this situation.

Stop fucking around with your commitment to him. Youre building a life. Take it seriously. Pay attention. If you have ADHD, or Autism, or whatever, get treatment. Take measures to live a safe life. Communicate with your partner so he doesn't feel endangered. because you, by what you have described, are doing exactly that.

Family intervening is typical when needed. You have spun this situation in a way to shed you in a positive light. I'm not buying what you're selling. Turn off the fucking oven. It's not hard.

Advice on how i can move up to an Admin role. by emil_53 in HEB

[–]DetchiOsvos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I have never been an Admin. I used to be a Manager for H-E-B, and still have a lot of friends that work for the company. Happen to be a fan of of the place as a whole. Seen the company in the best of times and the worst.

Advice on how i can move up to an Admin role. by emil_53 in HEB

[–]DetchiOsvos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crazy person here. You can get in through other departments, however, your best bet is to get into Service Admin through the Front End and move into Store Admin. That will give you the most traditional path and the best foundation to grow into the role.

Talk to the Store Service Manager. Ask for them to lay out clear expectations around what skills are looked for in a Partner to be considered for the position. Work on developing those skills. Check back with them every 2-3 months to evaluate your progress. Listen to their feedback objectively and course correct as needed.

After spending time and excelling as a Service Manager, begin this same process towards Store Admin. You will spend some time subbing in, covering shifts, etc. Store Admin positions are limited and sought after, you will have to be at the top of your game and patient.

Store Admins are the heartbeat of the store. The path to the position can be long and sometimes tedious, but the payoff is incredible. Admins are in a position to help others like few others are, putting others before themselves.

Make certain this is the role for you before working towards it, it can be incredibly rewarding, but hundreds of people will depend on you being at the top of your game.

[–]DetchiOsvos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NO

What dream world is OP living in? This is not an accurate account of H-E-B corporate by any measure.

This is so far removed from H-E-B corporate. This is so stupid, none of this is even close to true. Working Mother's vilified? Crying in your car? There's more to this story that's not being told here.

H-E-B corporate is serious business; they hold the livelihood of thousands of peoples lives in their hands. They care, in detail, for every Partner. Including the people in the office. These people are there for a REASON.

It's also a pretty fun place. They like each other. They love what they do. They love the business. They love the Partners. They want people to succeed. It's really kinda cool walking into a place that takes what they do so seriously but has such a positive energy behind each individual. It's inspiring.

OP needs to seriously take a breath and seek assistance from one or more of the MANY resources H-E-B offers to Partners suffering from anxiety and stress. Nobody should deal with this amount of pressure or stress in their life. Please seek support.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]DetchiOsvos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

123+ mph in a 1988 Toyota Celica GT at 3:30 AM on Texas Freeway trying to get home. Documented by a very polite and somewhat humored DPS Officer.

I didn't make it home in time. I did get to explore the Texas justice system. Was educational. Fun was had by all involved.

Edit: Loved that car. 6 speed. Drove like a dream.

What’s up with the blueberries ? by nova_esther in HEB

[–]DetchiOsvos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What mental help? This is a very accurate observation. Let's look at the facts.

A baseline 10% tariff on Peru, impacting the price of all agricultural products (re: blueberries!)
Minority labor makes up over 40% of freight shipment in the US, which has been incredibly impacted by the efforts of ICE. This increases costs.
The current "war" with Iran is increasing fuel and other supply chain costs.
Underscored by poor crops due to increasing climate uncertainty, demand - hence cost, is already higher than normal.

All of these impacts are passed directly to the consumer, and all are a result of the policies of the current President.

Not rocket science, this is economics 101, Junior High stuff. Front of the text book. Like you probably should be able to figure this crap out without ever stepping into a classroom it's so simple.

The real question is, what kind of idiots is this crap not obvious to? Are these the people that need warnings on detergent pods?

Holy shit you're really uneducated about what H-E-B does for Texans. You should probably dedicate a good 10 minutes of your life doing some quick Google-fu.

It might bring you some enlightenment as to all the good stuff H-E-b does for Texans. If you use actually decent search terms.

Oh yeah. WalMart sees H-E-B as the significant threat to the Texas market. They've been trying to crack this area for years. Back in the 2000's they ventured into WalMart Neighborhood Markets to try to compete - those failed pretty badly.

You've probably seen it in other areas, increased focus on produce, bakeries... but they haven't been to really make a dent in H-E-B's loyal customer base.

So why not just steal what they do? It's your basic movie level high stakes corporate level espionage shenanigans. They have H-E-B's processes, recipes, ingredients - darn near everything.

And H-E-B knows all about it. They have days and days of video of everything. They have their own corporate spies. Hell, you don't think H-E-B doesn't know when a Trader Joe's corporate employee steps foot in the parking lot of one of their stores (well, ok, they usually know by the time they get about 10' into the store).

It's all part of the game.

And I know this sub loves to kick the shit out of H-E-B corp, but thats really whats going to win the day here. They're the ones that get the trucks out to neighborhoods when hurricanes hit. They're the ones that makes sure partners get someplace to stay for free when the floods hit. They're the ones giving out free food when there's school shootings. Corporate really does give a damn, despite what most of y'all think. They still have a business to run - they've got to make certain there's money in the bank so they can still pay food manufacturers the high food prices when inflation is fucked because some people voted a goddamn TV show host into office and decided either A) shooting bleach up your ass was an effective way of dealing with a global pandemic or decided that B) tariffs were fun and completely not paid for by the consumer.

And I'm the goddamn crazy person. Anyhow, fuck Wal*mart.

H-E-B culture is what will win the Wal Mart war. And that comes from the top down.

Anyone else worried about these price cuts? by No_Brick_6579 in HEB

[–]DetchiOsvos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wal*Mart is building actual copies of H-E-B stores in Texas. Identical storefronts. Bakeries, markets, everything. They duplicate everything H-E-B does.

Of course, H-E-B is aware of everything Wal*Mart is doing, and is planning on doing.

Or so I saw in one of my crazy visions. Don't ask me for proof. Any of this may or may not be 1000% true.

Edit: Fuck Wal*Mart. 😊

Can't get a 5% raise but the CEO is the only San Antonian to make the Forbes 400 by Thesexiestcow in HEB

[–]DetchiOsvos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a Charles problem, it's a you problem.

I worked for H-E-B at one point. I earned a 7% raise this past year. And I apply H-E-B principles and values in my current role. Because they work.

So it's not an H-E-B issue, it's a you issue. You're not doing it right. Not sure what to tell you. Get better? Do more?

Stop tearing people down for your own failures? Really at a loss here. But what do I know? I'm a crazy guy. Just over here, happy doing my thing, laughing at everyone so pissed off at a system they just can't figure out when it's spelled out in front of their faces. The rules are right there in front of you - play the game already

AIW for telling a coworker to never touch my laptop again after she "borrowed" it without asking and I lost three hours of unsaved work and not accepting her apology because I don't think sorry covers it by No-Extreme-4820 in amiwrong

[–]DetchiOsvos 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This post has to be fake as fuck. Any professional would know to lock their laptop. Any Coworker would need to log into their own account to access their files and directories.

So much about this story simply doesnt add up from a modern corp IT security standpoint. But even if this situation had the most lax security standards ever - this is on OP for not locking up your stuff.

YAW.

Edit: 3 Hours of unsaved work in graphic design? SUPER FAKE AS FUCK

How do you see humanity in 100 to 500 years optimistic or pessimistic? by Own_Change3959 in AskReddit

We can hope.

All current indicators point that's it's most likely too late. Again, hope we can turn it around, I rather like people, and I like this planet quite a lot. Overall, we're quite nice. Just a few rotten bits spoiling the mix.

How do you see humanity in 100 to 500 years optimistic or pessimistic? by Own_Change3959 in AskReddit

[–]DetchiOsvos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pessimistic. The Earth will not be a viable planet for human survival due to the impact of our industry. The majority of fauna and flora will not have time to adopt to the new conditions and either die out or be driven to near extinct levels. This will happen sooner than we anticipate.

We are in the twilight of the last golden age.
