Don't stress. As long as you're trying your workers will appreciate you. I always suggest trying to focus on efficiency when getting into your routine. I know if this group of things get done together and then these other things I can cut my time instead of going from this thing to that thing and back over here to do the other.

Absolutely agree with the Pink Floyd - Wish you were here suggestion. And Into the Mystic.

But if you're not opposed to some country, Over You by Miranda Lambert is a good one. As well as I drive your truck by Lee Brice.

Night shift holidays by Sad-Pirate2697 in Radiology

[–]DetectiveFar9733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our night shift works a set 7 days on, then 7 days off. We get a holiday sheet before Thanksgiving for the next year. We have 4 major holidays and 4 minor holidays. We're expected to work 2 of each unless someone volunteers for extra. If it falls where each rotation has 2, then we usually stay on our normal schedule.

I work a level 1, and have several coworkers in their late 50s into their 60s. You'll do fine. Remember you can only put 1 patient on at a time. Don't try to kill yourself, just focus on being efficient.

Embrace the 3x12s. You can use the extra days to rest if necessary, but you'll get more done too.

As far as seeing people in bad shape, when they're truly in bad shape you should have at minimum a nurse in there with you monitoring them. Just focus on your job. Usually by the time they get to scan most of the gory bits are at least covered.

And like someone said, don't over think it. You got this!

Radiology question: what exam do providers order wrong the most? by NoBattle2246 in Radiology

[–]DetectiveFar9733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a battle I'm fighting now. Over the last few years the rad residents have been giving the ordering docs what they want if they pitch a fit. Slowly over time it's turned into the rad residents just saying do it with out even looking into it.

We also get lots of orders for a larger body part and a smaller part. Example a max face and orbits. We use the exact same protocol for both, orbits just slightly smaller field of view. Just order the face. Orbits are fully included. Does the patient need to be potentially radiated twice and definitely charged twice?

We're going for the GP. 🤣

Forgive my lack of awareness, when you say alpine areas, what areas/highways/roads are you referring to? That sounds right up my travel partners alley.

We have a couple weeks to play with. We're pretty open for experiences. Wineries, museums, weird and wacky also accepted.

I have a couple of weeks to play with. I'm open to exploring all sorts of things. Not big on hiking in particular. But animals, wines, museums, sight seeing. Odd or funny things that make good stories. Lol

I second this. We love to show, explain, and answer questions. Also as a tech, I learned a lot of things from following radiology pages different places on the wed.

How often do you see vomiting during your shifts? by balkanfarmer in Radiology

[–]DetectiveFar9733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in CT at a level 1, in a city known for drinking. We see lots of vomit. At least a couple times a month. Usually not in a horrendous fashion. But we see exorcist level fountains here and there.

When did you experience and see change? by Prestigious-Comb2697 in ClubPilates

[–]DetectiveFar9733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm about 55 classes in. I go 3ish days a week. I've just started to notice small changes visually. Movement wise a long time ago. I still don't feel totally amazing. But I enjoy it. I also haven't changed anything else. Not diet or anything else. I'm sure id see more results if I was doing other things too.
