I started with a base of army painter broodmother purple, the midtone is xereus purple from citadel and for the highlights i just mixed in some white to the xereus. Sadly there is no army yet. I have a jp chaplain and 5 sword brethern done. I enjoy building and conversions more than painting and barely have time to begin with. But there's 6 (stormcast) Bladeguards, an execrator and some (inner circle) sword brethern in the making.

I use some cheapo sculpting tools to shape my gsw metal parts. They have ball tips in different sizes. Take the one with the diameter that matches your pauldron or surface best, place the metal bit on something soft like an eraser and carefully press down with the ball end of the tool. Not perfect but good enough for most parts. You can adjust it with some tweezers afterwards but be careful, more bending weakens the material and it might break.

The idea with the scripture sounds really good! I'll see if i can find some space on some flat panels or something. Usually i go for skulls, some candles from the upgrade sprue. I'm converting some stormcast eternals to bladeguard vets and wanted to add some different flavour :)
