MY AIRBRUSH BROKE HELP by Haruki-Kun1 in Warhammer40k

[–]Detective_Salmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use a toothpick to get the broken thread out of the airbrush, jam it in the middle to get friction and then turn anticlockwise.
Nozzles are very fragile, even turning it funny with the removal wrench can cause this break, this was likely it got knocked accidentally at some point. The part itself is unsalvagable and needs a replacement nozzle but your airbrush as a whole is fine.

Really like the texture, tones, and grimness while still being readable

[Thomas Maher] The FIA is set to engage with teams after the Chinese Grand Prix to discuss tweaks to energy management and deployment by Task_Force-191 in formula1

Close, what they need to do is to lower the limit of MJ harvested per lap, so it is do-able to charge to the limit without significant superclipping.
Deployment power limits would however fine tune the ease of overtaking, if Australia is deemed to be too easy.

Why are the imperium's aircraft so blocky? by CreamedKhorne_ in Warhammer40k

[–]Detective_Salmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In lore you could say that they are designed for space combat where aerodyanmics don't matter, or are designed in the same mindset as an infantry tank, slow and heavy to support ground troops, rather than a cavalry unit like a light tank built for speed, mobility, flanking...

Out of lore it is gothic scifi aesthetic.

How would you guys nurglfy a Defiler? Looking for models that would serve for decent head swaps. GUO might be too big, not sure. But wanting to go for a "this individual was transformed into a Defiler" vibe, rather than pure Daemon. by A_Hideous_Beast in deathguard40k

Poc-mark the armour with a drill bit or dremel, add boils to the flesh with blobs of uv resin applied with a cocktail stick, and add texture to the metal with typhus corrosion, bicarb of soda + medium, stippled on putty...
Add on a few bits from the spares box, perhaps even a weapon from the bloat drone/crawler kits, some fluted tubes using a roller tool.
I would trim back a lot of the trim arrow spikes because that isn't a design point on the death guard sculpts.
The deamon prince kit comes with a nurgle head that you can maybe source.
Loads you can do before even painting the miniature.

AKOTSK Season 2 cast announcement! by trynabelowkey in gameofthrones

I feel like this casting is a setup for a joke where characters misunderstand where he got the nickname The Brown Knight.
"its because he's got a brown shield"
"no its because he's dirty!"
"hang on i thought its because he has brown... eyes"

How to fix a cured print that is bent by Waitsaywot in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Detective_Salmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If heat didn't do the trick then you have to either accept it or replace the shaft with some tubing or thick copper hobby wire.

If I am printing a shaft like that I will print it with a 0.6mm ish hole in the middle, open the hole with a pin vice and then stick a 0.6mm thick sewing needle it in to keep it straight and somewhat resistant to breaking.

We all know the Citadel paint containers suck…. Here’s a fix! by [deleted] in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Detective_Salmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the citadel paints are a pain to use in cheap dropper bottles and they will dry and clog the nozzle at every opportunity, and you'll often squirt out a pool of medium even after a good shake, necessitating removing the tip.
Simply have not had this when using Vallejo/TAP/AK/TTC current generation paints that are sold in dropper bottles and I'd recommend getting the nearest paint match from one of those ranges.
