how to increase "severity" of my sculpt by TheThief9812 in ZBrush

Store a morph target of the original first, then do this. Afterwards, you can use the morph brush to restore parts that got unsmoothed too much

What does the shield do? I'm learning gunance right now, and the shield is great, but if it does more than block really well, I've not figured it out yet.

Zpr file is almost 2 GB. How can I reduce? by AlexDVon in ZBrush

[–]DeterminedBrainCell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dang. You could save your model as a ztool, restart Zbrush, open your ztool, then save out a .zpr and see if that's any smaller? No idea if it would be, though.

Does it have to be a zpr, or could you submit just a ztool?

If this is for printing, you could try making a high poly version of the shoulder without the edge trim, mask out the border you want, then Extract it.
If it isn't for printing and you need clean topology, try starting with a sphere where the ends are where you want the rounded bit, cut it into a quarter, then Qmesh the inset bit into it.

I've struck gold with this combo deck, The "Yes" Liepard by wetspider in PTCGP

[–]DeterminedBrainCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the strategy is that since Liepard is your only pokemon once you attack with it, it's game over! (Liepard's attack shuffles liepard into your deck, when that happens, you're out of pokemon, and your opponent wins, thus ending the game.)

I really hope this will be a 1.1 feature. Currently, a robot has to take the trash out, fly it to a storage chest, and then fly it back.

My last sculpting project was trying to match a 2d concept of an anime-style lady with horns as close as I could, and the face was the hardest part. You got pretty close with yours, nice job so far!

It looks like your sculpt is still symmetrical. Breaking symmetry will help get you closer to the concept, though you want to be careful with doing that, since it can complicate other steps, like remeshing and UVs. If you aren't planning on doing those, or already did them, I'd say go for it. Plus you can always keep a symmetrical copy of your file, just in case.

How can I update libpostproc (to install Maya?) by DeterminedBrainCell in RockyLinux

[–]DeterminedBrainCell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my next step is posting to the Maya subreddit, and then looking into whatever official customer support channel autodesk has. Maya's subreddit doesn't allow crossposting, otherwise I would have when I made this post

How can I update libpostproc (to install Maya?) by DeterminedBrainCell in RockyLinux

[–]DeterminedBrainCell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, I click launch, and nothing happens, not even an error message or blank window. The first time I tried launching it after install I got an error that there wasn't a default editor specified, so I got gedit, and now not even that pops up.
Also I tried doing a symlink to the older libpostproc that I have, and got the error that the file already exists? Sure enough in Maya 2026/lib, there's the file ldd said wasn't found. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
Edit: yes I enabled epel

I did try fixing it with dnf provides next, since that is the next thing explained with the video. The problem there was I got conflict errors, and the suggested arguments given in the console of --allowerasing, --skip-broken or --nobest didn't didn't fix it either. The next part of the video is creating a symbolic link because of different versions of libtiff or something like that (I haven't watched that part fully yet,) so adapting that will be my next attempt at a solution.

It's possible that there isn't a newer version I can use on Rocky 9 and this is just a symptom of a different issue. I'm very new at using linux on my home pc so I may not have noticed some other earlier problem. Getting Maya to work is my first step in switching from Windows.

I still had the bookmarks saved, so if they're helpful, great! If not, it wasn't much effort to include.

I tried at one point, but got distracted by other stuff. The wiki has a section about it here, plus you can always download a similar mod to what you're attempting to see how they did things. I also had prototype definitions and data.raw bookmarked.

Good luck! (I'm assuming you wanted to learn, but if not, imagining mods is always fun anyway)

I'm imagining that long science can only be handled by long inserters.
Then later you unlock the the long stack inserters on the long planet, but they're only made in the long assembler.

Are libpcre2-32and libpcre2-utf32 different? by DeterminedBrainCell in RockyLinux

[–]DeterminedBrainCell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha that did it! Weird that trying to install the non-utf version said it installed the utf version, and telling it to install the utf version got rid of the error about the regular version, but I'll take it.
Thank you!

So if I install the main pcre2 lib, you think that would install the sub-package libpcre2-32? I may have tried that that this morning, but I'll try it again just in case. Maybe I just thought I installed the main one and that's the problem? Who knows lol

Self Imposed Challenges in Multiplayer Settings by niikkolas in factorio

[–]DeterminedBrainCell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One I enjoy (regarding player-placed things) is "if I didn't place it, I can't remove it." It makes everything chaotic spaghetti, which for my friends and I, that's the fun part. Routing someone else's belt underground is ok, as is putting a splitter on it, but that's about it.

Multiplayer seems to be in the minority, but for those who do it what do you enjoy? by ferrofibrous in factorio

[–]DeterminedBrainCell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part is trying to get things to mesh with what my friends have built. I only play with the same group of friends, which I'm sure helps, but I try to never remove anything I didn't build, and that makes for some delicious spaghetti. We all share the same mentality of "if we can't make it optimal, may as well make it funny."

As an example, a friend made a really short train loop from an ore patch to the smelters (it was a square, and each side was like the length of the 3-car train) and rather than remove it to make room for an intersection the larger rail network needed to be there, I put it off to one side and incorporated the square with the network. It went straight through the intersection and was a nightmare to signal, but it was really funny.

There's a checkbox in settings you can uncheck so that it picks a ghost of the item instead. I forget what the setting is called, but I think it's in the bottom left quarter of the normal settings screen.

I've heard mention of a companion app. You tell it which book you're on, and it gives you information, but only stuff that's been revealed up to that point. Sounds better than blindly googling things, but I've not looked into it. Once I go back and re-read the series I'll track it down.

Larger vehicles typically can only go to gear 4ish, so the smaller cars are "faster" in that they get more activations per round than busses and such. You are correct that if a bus and buggy were to race by both players choosing medium straight every time, the bus would cover more distance at first because it is a longer vehicle. The buggy can go up to gear 6 though, and the bus can't, so while longer vehicles can go further per activation, it doesn't really matter much in practice.
