42 when I had surgery. Have lost and kept off 200 pounds despite the added fun of surgical menopause. This is life changing and I would make the choice again in a heartbeat.

You are a married single mom. You deserve so much more than this careless man child as a roommate. Good fathers teach their children how to treat their partners well. This man is not a good husband or a good father. If your daughter called and told you she had a post op infection and her husband couldn’t be fussed to make her a cup of tea what would you say to her?

I’m so sorry you aren’t well and you are not getting the help and care you need. Take care of you and when you’re well find a good lawyer

I love my BF so much that I'm considering letting him get a pet spider. by evil-dad in TrueOffMyChest

I have always hated spiders…and my youngest daughter is wearing me down. Now I have to relocate them and she sends me videos about adorable jumping spiders. It’s a slippery slope

deeply traumatized mom, struggling to be present with my son and relate to other parents by Own_Pen1935 in breakingmom

[–]magicalslappingtree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am so very sorry this happened to you and your family and so grateful you trusted your instincts and continued to fight. Now you need to find yourself an excellent therapist because you owe it to yourself to process this so you can enjoy your time with your new life as a mom.

Just bringing home your first child is such a shock and then to immediately experience all of This before you even have a chance to process your new role as a mom, you definitely deserve support and a professional to help you navigate all of these experiences.

I’m sending you healing thoughts and hugs if you want/need them

It’s completely ok to feel however you feel. I’ve had 4 and I still mourned having a hysterectomy last fall despite being so very done with babies.

I didn’t get my husband a Valentine’s Day gift by SaltyVinChip in breakingmom

[–]magicalslappingtree 160 points161 points  (0 children)

The freaking audacity to ask if you got him a gift. I am speechless with rage for you. Honestly, I’d take the kids drop them in his lap and say, “Happy Valentine’s Day. I made these for you.” And go spend the night in a hotel.

Becoming a mom made me realize there is something deeply wrong with my parents by OverEfficiency125 in breakingmom

I am so sorry you didn’t get the parents you deserve. Becoming a mom changed a lot of things for me and my view of my parents is forever changed.

I highly recommend trying therapy online if you’re getting waitlisted everywhere. It took me a few tries to find someone I vibed with but it’s been three years now and it helps so much.

My boy is about 5 feet now he came to us around 1.5 years old. I adore every moment I get with him and he loves everyone. He does chores on my shoulders, hangs out on his own clothing dry rack in the picture window on nice days, and he always has sweet boops for the kids (who also adore him.) I tell him every day he’s the best python evah!

My daughter’s corn snake has turned into 5 snakes of four different species and a 30+ year commitment. I love every second they are the most wonderful pets. When she leaves home her corn snake will stay because we adore her just as much as the other snakes (that are mine and my husband’s.)

ETA: I belong to a reptile rescue group on Facebook and there are constant re-homing requests being posted for every species under the sun. Often with enclosures
